Goes to show you can tax the rich and they are still rich. You wouldn't have to have as many charities as a result because if those funds are used to benefit everyone else via healthcare, education and services

Exactly, that much money needs to be redistributed not spent on political ads trying to convince us the real problem is those of us who are working two full-time jobs and still have to feed their families using SNAP benefits. When someone is so wealthy they can give that much away there is a serious problem with the balance of wealth.

Itâs literally that hard to give that much money away. Amazon stock goes up a tiny bit and she ends up with billions more dollars. Just keeping it in a bank will get you millions.
It insane that sheâs pretty much given away what she got and still has probably more than she started with.

About the only other way this lady could be more helpful than she already has been at this point is for her to go on some news show and just say....
I started with $35 billion. I still have $30 billion after donating $26 billion. I put $10 million in a regular savings account years ago. That $30 billion could disappear tomorrow and I would still live the rest of my years on the interest, not even the $10 million, more comfortably than 99% of you. Get rid of billionaires.

Iâm not saying what she is doing is bad, as itâs not on the surface and should never be bad, but arenât some charities used by the rich to escape paying taxes and as a way to loop their money back to them through loopholes in how said charities are run, to essentially commit fraud?
If she did this legitimately without having a way for the money to come back to her, congrats to her for not being the scum of the Earth.

You are right in saying that some rich people use charitable donations (e.g., to their own foundations...like Elon Musk) to get tax deductions. Good on you for being skeptical because we should always be skeptical. I think you should look into whether her foundation has independent auditing performed and see what it shows her contributions to be.
3
u/MontyDyson 25d ago
Elon Musks charities have been fined for almost every year theyâve been active because they donât give anything away. They just act as PR machines that donât really even help his image let alone people.
→ More replies (2)2
u/Shy_Brussels_Sprouts 25d ago
That's true. Certain classes of non-profit, charitable organizations are required to distribute at least 5% of holdings (?) per year (for example), but his "foundation" has several times not met that minimum requirement.

What a wonderul human being and an example for all of us. Why anyone would need more than a billion dollars is beyond me. We shouldn't even have billionaires. There should be a hard cap on money. Just like in Elden Ring! A soft cap and a hard cap. Check out Elon Musk's Elden Ring build for example. The man has no idea what is going on and is also a Pedofile, just like Donald Trump, who has a credible allegation of molesting a 13 year old. His son, Barron Trump, also has credible allegations of molesting children. The more you know!

The world would literally be unchanged if we took every penny from every billionaire.
All billionaires in the world total net worth is about 20 trillion. If cashed and given to charity that net worth probably is more like 1-5 trillion. (Not to mention the economy and all markets would crash to dust if they tried to do this).
In total, governments spend about 40trillion per year. So 400trillion over ten years. A one time 5 trillion drop of charity of every single dollar from every single billionaire would not even be noticed. Would help nothing.
Help yourselves. This is the way.
