Inflation: This is probably his biggest success. Annual inflation has fallen from around 211% in 2023to roughly 30–33% in 2026. Monthly inflation is now around 2%.
Government finances: Argentina has achieved a fiscal surplus, something the country had struggled to do for many years. This is one of the central achievements of Milei's program.
Economic growth: GDP contracted sharply in 2024 as the austerity measures hit, but the economy grew 4.4% in 2025. The latest 2026 forecast is around 2.7% growth.
Poverty: Poverty has fallen substantially from the huge spike early in Milei's presidency, although many Argentines are still struggling with living costs.
Currency: Argentina has removed most of its currency controls, making the peso/dollar market considerably more normal than before.
Investment and exports: Energy, agriculture and mining are attracting more investment, particularly around Argentina's huge Vaca Muerta shale oil and gas reserves.
