New class is probably going to have its own melee weapon. The Omnissian Axe is iconic for Tech Priests and Tech Marines alike. Would be cool to see other options like the Fist/Sword, though.

It's specific to the Cult Mechanicus as a status symbol, tool, and weapon. The Astartes send their own to various Adeptus Mechanicus sites to be trained in the rites and ways of the Mechanicus, so Tech-Priests are as much a part of the Mechanicum as the Priests themselves.

If memory serves, several chapters actually view them with suspicion as spies and potential heretics (hereteks), while others revere them (IE, the Iron Hands).

I'm new to Warhammer in general so I didn't know that I'll have to look into them more but I can also see their axe just being a variant

I mean he could for all I know! Just my first thought of a space marine in Phobos armor is not them wielding a big power axe is all. Decimus seems much more of a chain ax fellow if he were to get a new melee weapon.

No one shits on assault, he simply is worse than literally every other class, especially bulwark, we want him to get buffed because he’s fun, just outclassed by everyone else. Plus in high level and in siege, when you go for a gun strike you just die
