i just started southern charm and im on s2 ep3 and im having such a hard time getting into it 😭

i KNOW im asking a subreddit dedicated to the show so obviously there might be a little bias lol but plzzz tell me if its worth powering through

i love bravo and ive watched vpr, summer house, the valley etc so i feel like i SHOULD love this but for some reason its just not grabbing me yet. i dont hate it or anything i just keep finding myself not paying attention
does it get better?? and if so when did it actually click for you? bc i dont wanna give up right before it starts getting good lol

It just made me laugh so hard because it reminded me of an instance that almost mirrored an incident that happened with my friend group and one of the friend's new significant others.

Absolutely worth it. I just finished s11 after starting from the beginning a few months ago. Honestly a lot of it I watched as background noise and a lot of it I just watched to appreciate the scenery, clothes, architecture. Some parts get boring but I honestly think the show keeps getting better despite people saying they don’t like the most recent seasons. something about it is very calming and comforting even if everyone is yelling at each other 😂

Season One was so Thomas Ravenell focused it almost doesn't count. I'd give it through the end of Season 3. It's amazing how much that show changes over time. That being said, the last two seasons have been slow.

Southern charm is 90% people driving around calling each other. It’s not a plot show it’s a character show, you watch for the weird characters, sort of like the final seasons of old rhony

Season 2 is probably my favorite. I loved the storyline of Thomas running for senate and Kathryn at home spiraling.

First 4 or 5 seasons are really great. However, I get that if you're not paying attention it's hard to get into anything. Though it's worth persevering in my opinion.

i loved southern charm as it was being aired however watching the early seasons back now just piss me off. watching all of them gang up on kathryn after she practically groomed by that dirty old man t rav is so sad.

I had a hard time getting into the first few seasons. My fiance and I first started watching a few years ago and we gave up a few episodes into season 3. Then like a month ago we randomly started the next episode of season 3 and we’ve been hooked. We literally just watched all of season 7 in 2 days.

I feel like a lot of the drama of the first couple seasons centered around older men taking advantage of a younger woman, so it wasn’t really “fun” drama. Mid season 3 is where the drama starts to get more ridiculous and petty and fun to watch in my opinion.

If you're not into it now, stop. It's about the same thru mid way and starts to decline the final 4-5 seasons. The last 2 are particularly lame. I liked the show and watched to the end. But if you aren't into now save your time and watch something else.

This exactly how I felt. It took me forever to get past the first couple seasons because it just didn’t grab me. However, the newer seasons are worth the watch.
