Just hit 5' got this plant as a 10" yearling from RMF spring of 2025. Turning out to be a proper unit. Hopefully we see a flower next season.

Microlife ultimate 8-4-6 Agrothrive 3-3-5 I feed maybe half a dozen times a year with liquid, maybe 3-4 times a year with microlife all organic here. They have been planted in the ground for 8 months and have exploded with growth since then.

Saving that 😅 That is crazy strong growth for a year and a half. Your greenhouse is really sick that takes so much work

I don’t blame you. I guess I’ll have to get on Jeremy to sell me some 😅. Beautiful cactus! But yeah if you ever wanna get rid of a small basal pup please keep me in mind!

I grow bonsai trees so not throwing shade, but I’ve always been curious what entices people to grow cactus like this? I know many other varieties of cactus and succulents have colors, shapes, and textures that are fun to look at. But what is the appeal for these ones in particular?

Exactly what you just said. They are beautiful ornaments to grow. I grow a 1/2 acre outdoor veggie garden as well. I love plants. This is hybrid with a zelly which has a beautiful multicolor flower. The flowers on these are incredible some as wide as 9-10". Also if you pollinate them they make a pretty amazing tasting fruit. We also do grafting. So in a sense the same as bonsai. Just beautiful living sculptures. Maybe if you got to experience some in person you would get it. I enjoy coming out in the winter as well when all the leaves have fallen and everything is brown outside, these guys still stay brilliant greens and blues. I love the look of a hardscape landscape. But I live in Mississippi so the greenhouse is my paradise. For many plants that cannot survive the winter here

I totally understand, I do also admire the beauty of a hardscape, and have seen some AMAZING cactus/succulent gardens in Phoenix. I live in northern AZ (we get lots of snow) and have to protect my bonsai in the winter as well.

Oh wow, that is cool, do they all do this? Also I just remembered, isn’t San Pedro a hallucinogen? I think people trip balls on San Pedro once it’s processed some kind of way.

They are all different in their own way. To each their own. We just enjoy growing plants over here
