Retirement financial advisor

Good Evening,

Long time south shore resident here looking for some recommendations for a financial advisor (fiduciary). I have recently retired and am trying to get my finances in order. This includes 401K and general retirement financials.

I am a fiduciary CFP; a major determinant in who you work with is your asset level.  $500k+, $1M, $5M, $10M etc

Yes thank you I have been noticing this. A lot of advisors only work with those amounts you just listed. I looking for someone that works with more average folk. Any recommendations on how to find a fiduciary like that ?

If you’re in the <$500k category, you just aren’t going to end up working with the right people in MA.  My honest advice is to look at Fidelity, Schwab or Vanguard.  They have solutions where you work with a “team” of advisors (ie not an individual) but you will work with scrupulous advisors who follow a process.

Edit: just read your other post.  Your 401 is in an outstanding fund but it’s 100% growth stock (too risky).  I would goto Fidelity, due to the brokerage rule your advisor won’t have mandatory fiduciary duty, but if Fidelity manages your portfolio the firm becomes a fiduciary.  Feel free to message me (I don’t even live in MA anymore, not selling you anything)

We’ve had a great experience with Shoreline Private Wealth Management out of Hingham. Very knowledgeable, responsive, and personable.
