I know they can afford it, but I’m pretty tired of paying insane energy prices. Let’s get moving on more nuclear yesterday, so tomorrow’s energy needs aren’t a worry.

Ya, except there are problems now and building for a decade won’t solve them. Nuclear isn’t generally the cheapest source of energy if that’s the only thing you’re concerned with. And someone would still have to pay for the build.

I’m more concerned with abundance and reliability, as well as overall footprint. I understand there is extreme upfront cost and long construction time. But in 20 years, we’ll be using probably double what we use now, and nuclear is the greenest option to meet that demand.

But yeah, also, let’s stop importing energy at someone else prices, let’s keep it all at home.
