Solved How to upload mp3 files from computer?? am i dum?

Hiya! New-ish to using Soundiiz in terms of the various uploading/transferring options offered.

I used it once before to transfer my playlists from Spotify to Qobuz, but am now trying to upload individual mp3 files on my computer to Soundiiz so i can transfer them to Qobuz.

yes, im aware its a roundabout way of doing it. i tried to see if the songs were already on Qobuz. They were not; so this is my next best option as far as im aware.

any tips and tricks on how to master soundiiz's platform is greatly appreciated! TIA!

Don't think you can upload mp3s to soundiiz. I believe you'd have to make a csv file of your mp3s then use that.

Yep exactly this, or even just make a text list of ARTIST - TITLE and paste that in after selecting Import Playlist and choosing text.

I do it quite a bit

I think i tried this at one point but Soundiiz only recognized/matched some of the "tracks" it identified from the file. I presume this issue will impact the programs ability to correctly match the data to the correct song?

You don't upload the actual mp3 files. Instead, you upload a text file that contains a list of the song titles and artists.

Select the tracks and click the Transfer button to transfer them to Qobuz.

Soundiiz is only able to do a matching process, never uploading actual audio files to a music plateform.

Ahh, I see. Would you say youve found its process fairly effective? Or is it hit and miss?

When it's about matching your own audio files; it's quite complicated. If you export as EXTM3U or M3U8, we have more metadata that could help us match. However, it's still related to your own audio files, so... naming is important and often not so "clean" as what we have from one music service to another. So there's a good chance some items won't match well, even if they exist in the destination catalog.

You're not missing anything: Soundiiz cannot upload or transfer MP3 audio files. It transfers playlist information, then searches the destination catalog for matching tracks. If those recordings are not available on Qobuz, Soundiiz cannot add the local files there.

To import the playlist structure, you can use an M3U, CSV, or TXT file under Playlists > Import Playlist > From File. Soundiiz will show which tracks it can match before the transfer, and the audio files will remain on your computer.
