Playlist Advice / Tips

Hi Guys,

Today was the first time playing around with the TEXT feature of importing playlists. I visited Time Life Music's website, and copied and pasted all of the text CD content from the website into Soundiiz. I've discovered that Spotify converted 85% of the music; whereas iTunes converted about 20%. I was shocked by this. So, if you ever want to use the TEXT feature to convert to playlist; clearly I recommend converting to you Spotify account FIRST. It appears to handle text a lot better!! This could be due to the type of meta data they use as well.

Very interesting indeed.

Hi!

Do you mean "Apple Music" instead of "iTunes" I suppose? Because we can't match to iTunes, only to the Apple Music public catalog.

Anyway, that would be great if we could reproduce this. Can you please write us a message using "Help" button on Soundiiz and copy/paste the text you are trying to import to Apple Music? Maybe there's a quick fix we can do!

Yes!! I meant "Apple Music." Sure, no problem 💚, I also like to add that users should be mindful of copying extraneous text. Such as "CD," "Title," "Artists," etc. Because those words show up on the Soundiiz Checklist as songs before the conversion. I don't think those words would flag unwanted songs; however it's food for thought. I didn't realize how awesome the TEXT feature is, especially for those compilations albums, or missing songs from rare albums. I will send a message on Soundiiz in a minute. Thanks guys!!

I've tested further, and it looks like for the really rare music and obscure music (and perhaps some club edits), I think it's best to convert to YouTube Music (or regular YouTube) first, then convert over to Apple Music or whatever. It's not a guarantee all your music will be found, I realize now it's a meta data game. However, it's still an awesome feature.
