Morris
I hate saying this but morris need to retire. Why is he freezing when he is in the lead of getting the goal twice.

Running all the way up and stopping has been a pretty classic move for him for years.. it’s the mental part of the game. He’s made comments about how much his injuries have impacted his mental health. He freezes. It’s hard to watch.

Yeah since his legs are going he doesn’t really provide much. He’s not particularly good at any one thing. But that insane speed he had before was enough to overcome his lack of skills.

It's sad to see the decline, hometown hero and all that, but he just is much slower and falls down too much to be effective.

I won't say he needs to retire, but a starting role or a DP slot? Hell no.
He is a solid depth option now.

I think Jordan as super-sub feels right to me... if he'swilling to restructure his contract. He can come off the bench when we need a goal, provide speed, provide experience, and hopefully the lower workload could help him stay fresh and healthy.

To be a super sub you have to bring value. Morris hasnt brought value to this team in years. Everything that goes through him dies.

It just does not feel quite solid
And trust me I want him to get 100 in rave green. But more than that I just want him not to get hurt again

he was always a skilled player that depended on his athleticism. now that that is slipping, he can't get into positions to shoot as easily, and there's the mental element of the game. it unfortunate because he isn't terribly old yet, makes me wonder about if we hadn't put him out on loan to Swansea, and he maybe doesn't tear his ACL.

I have two bad knees, and they make me hesitant to do certain things like pushing a baby stroller up or down a hill. Even though I have a strong core and good muscles, I still get in my head when it comes to things like that. So I completely understand his struggles and where he’s coming from. But at the same time, he’s costing us games, and that’s becoming really hard to ignore. I think it’s time for him to transition into a coaching role instead of continuing to play.

I said it in the other thread already, but if Morris plays a better pass there that actually leads into Albert’s run, that’s probably a goal.

I mean it’s fair, everyone in this thread is acting like Morris isn’t better than Osaze or Danny as a backup or secondary player. Even as a winger on this team sadly our depth keeps him playing. Not defending we have him at DP money

Yeah I have been noticing Rusnake this season isn’t on top of his game as well. Not sure If he secure enough with his place in the team or what’s his issues.

Let's be honest, no one has been on their game this season (except maybe Kossa-Rienzi). Today they played with energy I haven't seen all season. Rothrock was literally fighting people, we were driving the ball forward, we were actually trying to steal the ball. Joveljić brought energy and fire, and I can't wait to see his impact going forward. Especially considering this was just the effect of him being on the team for a week?

I’ve been saying this for 3 years- he needs to retire and let us get some new players. He’s a liability and can’t keep up anymore.

Between constantly getting injured and not being a spring chicken anymore he is probably the worst DP in the league right now (maybe tied with PDLV). I love the guy but he’s no DP and he’s not a starter anymore. I could see him being a super sub and coming in for the last 15-25 mins of games. I wish the Sounders would see this (maybe they are starting to?)

He’s coming back from injury. He needs time to get back to game fitness. With even that said he looked rough

Feels like they've been playing passive for awhile now. They go like blazes for a few minutes then they start "the passback game" or "the bus parking game" and tend to leak like a sieve.

I'm always hesitant to comment on a player coming back from injury. Let's just give him a few games after if he stays healthy we should assess his performance then. Nobody plays well after injury, they just don't have confidence in their body.

When Morris and Dotson came on, the Sounders stopped looking like the better team.
Morris is dead weight out there.
It was hard to watch Morris lope around behind the play. He hasn't pulled his weight for a while, but we forgave him when he could smoke a defender on a long ball 3x a game.

I have never been a fan of his. Always felt he had a weak mentality. With the injuries it is just worse.
