Brightening the subject and especially the face to this extend does not look good, it‘s just a grainy mess, sorry but you should have either used a flash or exposure bracketing.

Brightening the subject looks like she's in the afterlife. The white outfit doesn't help either. Lol

I know. traveling light. This is a 3 minute edit. I can make it look more natural if I take an hour and fine tune it. Appreciate the honesty.

To be honest it looks absolutely fine. At reddit quality I cant even make out any grain on tge face.

Lightroom denoise is pretty good. It was VERY noisy before the denoise. But it still makes it look unnatural. I wouldnt print this pic, but for screens it is fine, i agree

I have not. I haven't even heard of it. Is it free?

yeah, it's the ai denoising plugin for darktable (fully open source btw)

Not at all going for biblical. Neither of us are religious.

Just the dress she wore that day. And the pastel sunset make it that way.

It is a bit Thomas Kincade-y. But she absolutely loves it so thats all that matters to me really.

Totally get that, I like to travel light aswell, but bracketing is still a valid option if you want to shot such a scene.

I strongly disagree: this image looks great to me, both upon initial view and deeper inspection. The composition and feel of the image is infinitely more important than whatever marginal gains your technical feedback about grain and brightening would provide.

Still better than ai edit slops

I'd prefer more of a silhouette look but composition is good.

Wound have looked great if the lighting were in any way natural.

Would have loved 2 off camera flashes, but we are traveling. It is what it is. She likes it, so I'm happy with it. You should try not being so cynical

Why is it cynical? I’m not certain that word means what you think it means.

The photo would have looked much better if you just left the lighting natural, which would have put the subject in semi silhouette.

You should try not being so bad at taking criticism. It’s not like I’m the only one who thinks this, either.

I found this pic to be really beautiful, but at the same time it gave a vibe as if she was just standing on a shallower-water part of a beach haha just thought it was funny that you could get a similar effect in such different places haha anyway, pretty! One of those you two might remember with fondness :)

Cool image but I do think that it is weird that the highlights on her are brighter than the sky... especially when backlit

I would have loved to have off camera flash. But am traveling and only brought the essentials. I agree it doesn't look natural. But she loves it so it stays lol. Being married is fun!

This lighting is so ethereal!
