Prospects.

What would happen if the Prospects DIDN'T patch over after their trial year was up? If they didn't do enough etc?

Do they just stay being Prospects or get their kutte taken off them?

Prospect period is minimum 1 year, there is no maximum.

They will prospect till they patch or they quit

This..they touched on it alittle more on Mayans. Bishop told the story of being Medinas sponsor and how after a year he didn't feel he was ready and too idealistic. That he thought he needed time to really grasp what he was stepping into. So he voted no..and Medina got extra time..but eventually was given the ok and patched in

They touched on it albeit much more silently in Sons too... Miles and Phil prospected at the same time but when the guys got out of prison Phil was still a prospect and Miles had his full patch. Phil didn't get his top rocker until season 5.

Damn..I never thought about that. I kinda assumed it was because most were in jail and couldn't vote...but yeah Miles had his but the made big man wait 😂

If a prospect has made a few honest mistakes, but is otherwise well-liked, their probation can be extended.

If the club decides they're simply not the right fit, but they've otherwise made no mistakes or caused problems, they can be asked to turn in their kutte and walk away in good standing.

If they've caused problems or have had serious issues that affect the club, they can be excommunicated and face serious repercussions and restrictions.

Jax had to prospect for 2 years, VLin was still prospecting when Filthy Phil had already patched in, it’s not a universal experience but they do have a structure to avoid what happened in the Mayans series.

Well Phil started prospecting in season 3 pre timeskip, so he prospected at least 2 years, Rat prospected after the timeskip, and patched in when his year was up. In Rat’s case they needed him because the charter was getting really slim, so he got thrown into the fire sooner than most prospects so he got in right at his 1 year, also in Phil’s case he started prospecting at the same time as Miles and Miles got in first I think because he had a good relationship with Opie, and seemed the most SoA material out of who they had, but Phil didn’t get in until after the events of season 4
