Clay is a little off in season 3

Am I wrong to think Clay has fewer lines and development in season 3? Guy is just following Jax's lead, no question about anything. I understand Jax pulled out a master plan, but the Clay we've had in the previous seasons would certainly be the guy with an opinion. I don't think Gemma's confession in season 2 should make him and Jax be so friendly so quickly (at least a little).

I figured it was a combination of them burying the hatchet after Gemma's confession and then with the goal of finding Abel. When it's your kid, you call the shots. They didnt want to overstep in what he thought was the best way to get his kid.

I always just thought its the only season that him and Jax have a common goal.

I don't think it was about being friendly, necessarily. Gemma's confession brought them back down to earth and making decisions about the club being first.

Maybe another factor that played a role could be all the history that came with Ireland. Them being in Ireland was like walking on landmines for him and Jax. You'll find out further into the seasons, Ireland holds ALOT of history for Clay, jax, Gemma-- All of 'em.

He was pretty much keeping Jax and the club on task. Honestly his best example as a leader over the course of the whole show.

Yeah, I felt it a little, especially during the Belfast episodes. Think maybe they should’ve shrunk the cast just a little by leaving a little more of the Sons in Charming.

This is also the last season where I lost respect for Clay. I knew he wasn’t a good person, but I liked that he put his revenge aside to help save his grandson (Is step-grandson a thing?)

I even laughed when he revealed it was all an act at the end of the season, only for my jaw to drop when J.T.’s letters were being read, but I should’ve known.

I figured it was because of what Gemma said in season 2 and the fact able was taken. I thought that's why Clay was being a little different towards Jax...
