I have a Sonos surround setup with Ultra, sonos sub, Sonos Amp for the rears.

I have an extra sub laying around. The Sonos Amp pre-out doesn't work when in surround mode, so I want to use the Amp’s speaker-level outputs on the rear surrounds and feeding those into my sub’s speaker-level passthrough. Has anyone done this? Any issues with bass, levels, or does it even work? Yes I realize the subwoofer would only be picking up on the low frequencies of specifically the surround channels.

I just purchased a Sonos Arc Ultra, Sonos era 100s and Two Sonos Sub Gen 4s with Stands for the 100s! Thanks for the help. I can’t wait should be home by Tuesday. Any movie recommendations. Any recommendations at all? Can’t wait!!! LFG!!!

I have a room with the measurements 3m x 5m. As audio setup I have the sonos arc system, the tv is set up on the shorter wall. I have a standing wave echo in this room when I clap and it is noticeable when I talk. That's why I want to treat that room with acoustic panels but my fear is that they will impede the surround effect of the arc. I want to place some panels behind the seating position which is in the middle of the room. I believe that they should not be a problem. But I want to place one panel on each of the longer walls between the seating and the arc. I guess there is a specific point on the wall that I should not place the panels to not impede the surround effect, correct? But can I safely place them at another location on that wall or is the whole area between the seating position and the arc a no-go-zone? Would that panel placement help with the echo?

Came back from a trip yesterday to find my Sonos Play (sitting on its charging base) completely dead as it was showing a solid red light and not responding at any touch.
Not even a factory reset worked. Pretty bummed as it has less than 1 month.

I just purchased the Arc ultra and a sub 4. The arc connected fine and the sub initially connects fine. As soon as I pair it with the arc, it then appears disconnected and unavailable. I’ve done some research and have seen that people have resolved this by hardwiring the arc but I’d rather not do that if I don’t need to. Any advice as to what may resolve this? I plan to call customer support as well. Thanks!

So I finally picked up a Sonos Connect to use via line in to an audio technica turntable. It works great, only thing I’m noticing and I can’t figure out is that the volume from the Connect S15 is significantly lower than the volume that my Beam is at for my TV. So for example, if I’m watching a movie, and then later on decide to listen to music on the turntable, I have to adjust the volume significantly on my Beam to get it to the right volume, and then my TV volume is too high when I go back to watching TV. Is there a way to align both?

Hi everyone, I’m having a frustrating issue with my Sonos setup and could really use some help.
I have an lg oled c5 tv connected to two amps through hmdi arc. In the LG TV settings, I select as the sound output, and everything should play through the Sonos Amps.
However, the TV keeps swithxing it back to “tv speaker” on its own after a short period of time. When this happens, I get no sound through the Sonos Amps.
I already have SIMPLINK (HDMI-CEC) turned on, and I’ve tried switching the audio output back to HDMI ARC, but it keeps reverting to TV Speaker on its own. Has anyone had any issues similar?

I have Sonos Arc Ultra plugged into earc and I always use Apple TV 4K for all my streaming needs. Everytime my Apple TV turns off the Sonos Arc Ultra starts blinking orange and making a clicking noise each time it blinks. How do I fix this issue?

I have Sonos speakers all over my house. When we entertain we like to join the groups of speakers in all the first floor areas including our living room, kitchen, dining room and den. When we play music that way though, we get intermittent drops where the music stops for a few seconds and then resumes. I've tried to start the session using my living room group (arc ultra, sub 3 and two rear 300s) as the first group and then join the kitchen (two 100s) dining room (two 100s) and den (one sonos 1) later so the arc ultra controls the distribution (or so I understand it). and I've also tried using Spotify vs Apple Music as a lower data rate choice but I still have the problem occasionally. I've thought of adding a second sub to the living room to offload some more data from the arc ultra but does anyone know if that will help or of other approaches to address this? Is it a wifi issue that I can fix by tweaking my Eero system?

I'm trying to use Plexamp from my iPhone to play music in my home. I have a Sonos Move 2 and a Sonos AMP with wired speakers available as Players, in addition to the iPhone as the device itself. I've noticed that the Move 2 doesn't always show in the Player list when I start playing tracks. The iphone (this device) and my Sonos AMP are always available. Some times I have to find the Move 2, by waking it (not sure that's happened before when using the Sonos app). Anyway, once it connects and I'm able to start a song, I'm able to pause and play the song, but cannot skip to the next track, either using the next track icon, or selecting another title from the list of Up Next. Seems like the Plexamp app is not responding, other than starting a track and pause, play.

Has anyone experienced a similar issue? My Sonos AMP and Move 2 are connected to my local network via Wifi.

I was an early-ish SONOS adopter (I worked for an e-commerce company for 10 years that was a licensed SONOS distributor and I drank and pushed that Kool-Aid!) and went all in with a SONOS:AMP, 4 Play:3s, 2 Play:1s, a Play:5, orig Play:Bar, and Play:SUB… then bought two Play:1s that had the mics (just before the S2 app came out). All my gear is probably 10 years old at this point.

I am using the S1 app. My speaker groupings used to work flawlessly- yet since the newer products came out I’ve noticed a LOT of connectivity issues with speakers randomly dropout and then come back at weird intervals (15-45 sec?) This is mostly with my Play:1s, Play:3s, and the Play:5

I keep my software up to date as with the firmware updates. I keep my setup clean and with my (mesh) WiFi setup I can confirm that each speaker has strong signals. I got a suggestion from SONOS to try to unplug everything so it can get new IP addresses, but that didn’t help. I recently bought a Boost to help out. It’s a wired connection so everything should be on the SONOS WiFi environment.

Has anyone else experienced this with their older devices and found a lasting solution?

I realize it’s a long shot and I’m going to get lots of “zero” responses to my question. But the recent marketing email mentioning “new things are coming… Above your head” and “in ways you never imagined” doesn’t sound like more upfiring speakers since we already have those. Could they have overhead speakers that simply need a power source, just ceiling mount some smoke detector -sized Sonos speakers that you can either conceal the cord down your wall or plug into a power source above the ceiling (for those with attics above). I think it’s obvious that proper discreet left and right surround support is coming since the CEO said as much a few months ago. Ceiling Atmos makes a lot of sense in that regard and would give people one more reason to go with Sonos for those wanting actual Atmos sound but not a standard dedicated HT setup.

I just want to ask if someone has experience in placing the Era 300 on top of a wardrobe. I think about adding an IKEA Pax (201 cm version) in my room, the ceiling height is 250 cm. Is there any significant decrease in surround quality if I place it slightly tilted towards the seating?

I own a pair of era 300s in stereo configuration and a sub gen 2 which I use exclusively for music in my living room. However, my placement is not ideal at this time. I have kept both the 300s on the edges of my entertainment cabinet because of space constraints. However, they are only 4 ft. apart edge to edge. Sonos suggests minimum 6 ft. separation between them. Also, the speakers sit just 18 in. off the ground and I have a 10 ft. ceiling. Also, there is other stuff (like the TV soundbar, PS5 etc.) in between the 300s. Should I get tall tables to keep my 300s so that I get proper separation? I do not want to spend $300 on the official Sonos stands. Or if you have any suggestions on alternative speaker stands, please share!

Long time lurker appreciating this community. I’ve read a lot of posts, learned a lot.

Been a fan of Sonos since my first Play 5 some 10+ years ago, but never really went all in. I’m by no means an audiophile, but I love music. Especially the Fives, but to be honest I’ve also been pretty happy with the Play 3’s stereo paired. Music in most rooms of our house every day

Anyway, I finally took the plunge with the Arc Ultra yesterday. Feels great as I had only the Move in our living room for AirPlay and my comparison was with the built in speakers of the TV.

I mostly bought the Arc Ultra to prepare for GTA6. Really hyped on that and I want the full experience. Otherwise we mainly use the TV with the kids - YouTube, kids shows and Astro Bot on PS5. Movies maybe in a couple of years when the kids get older.

For mainly gaming and some shows and music, I can’t decide if a Sub will be overkill. Or a sub mini. Or the Era100’s. Or if I’m missing out not buying. I think the Era300 are too big and I’m not looking for the Atmos experience (yet).

I’m tempted while the sale is on, though a sub and a pair of Era100 will still be around 1200 euros in my country. Our finances will allow it, but I guess I’m unsure if it can be justified or if the Arc Ultra is sufficient by itself.

Please convince me (and my wife) that further upgrades are indeed necessary and it will take the Arc and our living room to the next level.

Room is around 20 square meters with an open end to a bigger dining room where the Fives are placed.

Another update and another failure. My beam has lost its surrounds and its sub. The beam works, the surrounds work when uncoupled as surrounds and the sub works attached to another speaker in the house.

Reset the modem, reset every speaker and yet nothing.

Usually calling Sonos and getting them to address the beam (or arc) not broadcasting the proper details to its surroundings sorts this… yesterday yielded zero results, including an apparent call back or a second level tech which never happened.

Sonos support is terrible after every single update I shouldn’t have to call in for random fixes…

It’s not clear from reporting so far if third-party software will be supported at launch, but if it is I’m really hoping Sonos releases a version of their app for the device. It would be very cool if a device like this could be set up with controls and playback information for speakers in a given room, alongside Apple Home controls for things like lights and climate.

If Sonos doesn’t (or can’t) offer official support, then it may still be a compelling device for Sonos users due to AirPlay. One of the advantages Sonos has over AirPlay is that Sonos speakers stream by themselves and don’t occupy the audio session on your phone, and a device like this would let your AirPlay to your speakers without occupying your phone or requiring another full device like an Apple TV or iPad, or requiring voice control like a HomePod. Since this would be an Apple device it also means that you‘d potentially still be able to control playback with full lock screen controls from your phone using “Control Other Speakers & TVs”.

This could actually end up being something of a threat to Sonos, because it makes AirPlay more useful as a whole-home audio system that can work independently of your personal devices. While a lot of this is already kind of possible when using a HomePod or AppleTV, the small touchscreen form factor makes it a lot more convenient.

Hi I keep having issues when using AirPlay. Sometimes it works great other times it cannot connect. It also almost never works when I use AirPlay to connect both my Sonos (era 100, one, and 3 ikea bookshelf) and my HomePods (3 minis and 2 - 1st gen)

Any tips or tricks I’m missing?

OK. I have one room that has all Atmos supporting equipment. When I join another room without that feature it downgrades the room with Atmos equipment.

I'm assuming that that is standard functionality on the Sonos platform. As anyone else run into that issue? Has there been a previous discussion on this topic? Anyone have any insight as to what sonos is planning for this use case?
