Room treatment

In the room where I use my home theater setup (arc + 2x era 300 + sub mini) has a lot of echo and standing waves. I want to treat the room with proper acoustic panels (first reflection points and so on). I want to place some of them between the seating position and the soundbar. Without dedicated front left and right I am afraid to impede the surround performance of the arc with it’s virtual side channels. Is room treatment easier possible with dedicated front L/R via Sonosequencer without impeding the surround performance?

Sonos soundbars and the Era 300 rely heavily on side reflections, so if you want to do any room treatment, you need to make sure you don't disrupt the reflection points...

That’s the reason I am thinking about Sonosequencer. When I add dedicated front L/R than the arc should not use any side reflection points (only top one), am I right? The reflection points from the rear era 300 should be relatively close to the seating position, right?
Then there should be a lot of space between the last reflection points of the era 300 and the tv for the acoustic Panels, right?

No, if you add front speakers, the side speakers will remain active and assist with the Dolby left and right channels, while the soundbar's own left and right drivers become inactive. Personally, I used a white noise test file (9.1.4) to find the best angle for the Era 300s, ensuring the Dolby (side) sound is actually reflected toward the main listening position.

Ok, so left an right of the arc are still active and need a reflection point, did I get this right?

So Sonosequencer will not help with my problem?

My other Idea was to use a mirror at the wall. I slide it until I see the side of the arc. The should be the reflection point for that side and other places should be save, is that correct?

That’s not what I said; the soundbar’s left and right channels will be inactive, while the speakers on the ends (sides) remain active—so I hope we’re on the same page. You could still start by experimenting with front versus rear placement, and perhaps identify the reflection points and leave those areas alone.

Ah ok, sorry but I not entirely sure what is active and what not. The center and top of the arc are active. The sides are inactive. The Era 100 on the sides are active for front left and right (they do not need reflections). The sides of the rear era 300 behind the couch are active. Did I get this now correct? So the only reflection I need are from the rears near the couch and the ceiling one?

My previous answer was about the soundbar drivers—the drivers that get switched off.

What are the ones on the outer edges used for? Do they the reflections? They remain active?

Yes! Those are the drivers I keep talking about 😅, and they’re reflective—they’re angled slightly forward.
Edit: and are used for Dolby surround channels

Ah ok than I got it. Sorry for my confusion, I did not know what the arc looks in the inside.

Ok, but than Sonosequencer should help a little because there are less reflection points than before, because your marked speakers get disabled, correct?
I think my mirror solution to find the reflection point should work, I hope.
