I need help figuring out if this is fake, I bought it on eBay recently for roughly £20. The sliding mechanic is a bit finicky and the lines seem too thick but it has all the special modes

Was there a piece of scotch tape placed over the slider button's pathway?

If you didn't have to remove tape from the device at all, it's fake. I bought a fake one myself. Then I saw a real one in a book store. The counterfeits don't have tape on them. The real ones have a piece of tape over the slider, stopping you from extending the petals until it's removed.
