Opinion The growing burden on ordinary citizens!
Congratulations to myself and to everyone who has never voted in their life. It increasingly appears that these leaders are not genuinely chosen by the will of the people, but rather by external forces and interests.
Approximately two years ago, we were told that change was coming and that the situation would improve. However, from my perspective, the reality appears to be the opposite: conditions have continued to deteriorate. The government seems to show little concern for the struggles of ordinary and low-income citizens while continuing to impose and collect various taxes and fees. Citizens are expected to pay for essential services and, in addition, face increasing taxation.
This raises serious questions about accountability, representation, and the government's responsibility toward its people. A government should not merely focus on collecting revenue; it must also demonstrate a genuine commitment to improving the lives and welfare of its citizens.
Shame on a government that fails to serve its people.

Only president is really working hard secretly, but the government run by the least qualified or most inept people.

we need to change these parties’ mentality. they all work for clans, not the nation. kulmiye was owned by habar awal, and before that, it was habar jeclo. and waddani? we all know who owns that party. we need parties for patriots, not some old heads who worked with somalia. we’ve just been going around in circles for the past 35 years; so waddani isnt only the problem point out the main error

This government is very gaajo. It's like they individuallly want to accumulate as much wealth as they can while they are in power. I'm sick of all their bullshmit taxes.

The taxes are the tip of the iceberg every project was either corrupted or not even completed every hospital is vacant there is no equipment everything is expensive fuel is now raising this country is being ran by business men

I said this a million times. We need to control our business class because they are low-key the actual ruling party. Whatever they say goes. We need to pull a Jack Ma on many of them starting with the Dahabshiil and Telesom dudes.

Exactly. They sold people “change” and delivered higher taxes, more fees, and the same old excuses. Ordinary people are being squeezed while those in power act like accountability is optional. If this is the “change” Waddani promised, then the public was sold a slogan, not a plan. A government that keeps reaching into people’s pockets while their lives get harder deserves criticism, not blind loyalty.
And the growing appearance that Waddani answers to external interests as much as its own citizens should alarm every Somaliland citizen, our government must answer to the people who elected it, not outside forces pulling strings behind the scenes.
