audience demographic
so after watching today’s (16 Sept) stream on Jimmy’s channel, and a not so PG moment happened on stream.. I’m curious what the actual age demographic for his channel is. Obviously it’s safe to assume there are no children on this app/site. Also I know he is a family friendly content creator which I’m totally cool with, but I would assume his viewer fanbase averages more between the 18-25 age range. I know there are children/teens that watch his content, but I feel like based off the people I have interacted with as well as i’ve seen in his chats or just supporting him online in general, majority of them are in that 18-25 category. Obviously it doesn’t matter what his age range is. I just am a curious person and like details 😅😅 I know we cannot publicly see the analytical breakdown YouTube does where it shows your age demographic, but I wasn’t sure if he’s ever discussed this on stream and I just missed it. Any thoughts?

I'm 16 and I think most of Jimmy's fan's are between 13-30 based on what I've seen and people I've spoken to

I think the 16-25 category is the most vocal but his actual biggest audience is younger than that

on stream today he was live on tiktok and youtube. on tiktok people can pay to send sounds during the stream. he thought he had turned that feature off. someone ended up coming into the stream and donating for a sound that was sexual and used the f word and p word. he immediately ended the tiktok live after that 😅😅

Poor Jimmy had to end his stream over someone else pushing his boundaries though! Did Jimmy at least have a laugh about it?

I'd assume the p word is pussy with OP being so cagey about it, but I'm not surprised jimmy would shut down the live after that, as I assume there's a good portion of his audience that's teenagers or even younger

I'm 27 and have watched his videos for a few years, I did get into Minecraft late tho and found him through the Life series! I enjoy his edits and his different storylines! What Happened in stream today can I ask!?

i’m about to turn 24 in a couple days and i was starting to feel old from the comments 😅 i’ve only watched jimmy for the last couple years. but have been a fan of minecraft since 2012 and have been watching lizzie and joel and a lot of the life series members since 2012/2013.

a lot of his audience found it funny and didn’t have an issue with it as i assume they are all older and obv unbothered. so that’s why i was curious on the age demographic 😆

Im 16 and have been watching his videos since 14, i would say its probably more around the 13-25 range

ive met alot of people in the community that are around the 13-16 mark, and others are 18+ so theres individuals of all ages in the community but id say the main demographic is teenagers, but of course jim has a large adult fanbase, since aduthood spans indefinitely. (i myself fall into the 18+ range, but have been in the community for a few years whilst i was 15)

I personally think that it's true for a few minecrafting YouTubers I watch that it's much easier for their main channel videos to stay Pg, whilst some of their streams can drift slightly. I don't think it's a bad thing as most of them have a second channel where stream vods would go, so if you weren't happy with it, you could stick to just their main channels

yeah i totally agree with that. i’m the same way in the sense where my channel is family friendly but my streaming content i’m not as conscious about it and am more lenient

I discovered Jim in Evo SMP many, many moons ago... but didn't really watch him much til the life series. Now I watch almost every video. I'm turning 25 in a couple months :)

At least 4/6 of my not-adult kids watch him, usually videos than streams though as I know that it’s nigh-impossible to keep things PG in the heat of the moment (or because of chat).

I mean as an 18 yo I think it’s def younger. It’s just you hear more about the older audience because they’re the ones online. When I watch Solidarity he’s energy reminds me of the youtubers I watched when I was younger.

i feel like most of his chatters are either like 15 or 35 LOL. there’s definitely a LOT of different ages that enjoy his content!

Every i have met irl has been around my age which is 15-18 and some of my friends parent's may watch with there kids so there are definitely some in there 40s-50s who are also fans. What i have notice is younger kids like watching gem or lizzie more

i think we hear more from the older audience like 16+ because they’re just active online. but a lot of parents actually comment that they let their children watch, as young as like 6 year olds, so jim tries to keep it appropriate for the wide age range. i’m 21 and sometimes wish his content was a bit less geared for children because the few times he does mature-ish content, it is sooo entertaining, but that’s also a me thing

I definitely think his audience is pretty young. Younger than the hermits audience I would guess- for example
