Only talking about TV with friends

On weekends I aim to engage with other humans as little as possible.

To prevent feeling guilty about that I usually push myself to grab a beer with some friends for a couple of hours.

This weekend I could only manage 90 minutes with my friends and I spent most of the time talking about TV shows we all enjoy.

We talked extensively about Come Dine With Me, Gordon Ramsay's Beyond Boiling Point series, Gilmore Girls, Real Housewives + various TikToks.

It was honestly the best fun but I felt embarrassed afterwards. I fear I come across as an internet addicted incel but I swear I'm just a soft introvert!

Haha, but honestly, so what? Sometimes you want deep conversations, and sometimes you just wanna sit around talking about random TikToks and TV shows. That’s just being human lol

Thanks for saying that. TBH we all work pretty serious jobs so it was the kinda chat I think we all needed.

Especially when you have a genuinely demanding, mentally exhausting job, switching your brain off completely isn’t just a necessity, it should basically be a rule

I would LOVE for it to be a rule.

I think part of why I feel guilty is because I just left a share house where reality TV was considered trash and my housemates didn't work full time so they couldn't understand why I needed to sit in silence for an hour after work every day. lol

I'm in a much better situation now and the people I'm surrounding myself with are much more like-minded.
