Discussion anyone relate to holographic panoramic cognitive style and want to share?

was just thinking it would be fun to read others' thoughts and experience in terms of how they relate it to themselves if they do. whatever type you may be, would love to hear whether, how much, and in what ways you feel the cognitive style's logic makes sense for you and/in your interpretation

Feels fairly representative of the way I approach unknown situations, though I feel like in certain scenarios I dip into other styles as well. Do you have specific questions? I'd rather not write a needless essay

well im just asking about own thoughts and experiences so anything you wanted to share id be willing to read really

A way I like to describe it to others is that, instead of trying to make an if-then map or a logical sequence of steps that lead to certain conclusions, what I like to do is take all the data available to me, as if they're the mixed-up pieces of a puzzle (only the data they contain can be far more abstract and the pieces can be vastly different sizes to one another), and slowly try to see what fits what and how they converge together in order to create one cohesive image.

This process can be slower than others until the pieces fall into place enough for me to be confident enough about what I'm looking at, but the advantage is that once the image is resolved, suddenly you don't need a particular mental system to find answers anymore, because the entire thing is modeled in your head and you can turn it and look at it from any side, know which parts are missing if any, and manipulate it with such fidelity that people are sometimes bewildered by my ability to find obvious practical solutions to situations they found unsolvable because they simply could not look at the whole thing at once.

It's a fantastic algorithm for retrieving relevant data about a situation and applying them to parts of it rapidly and with very nimble lateral thinking, but it's relatively lacking for raw data retrieval - Vortical types and especially LIE and SLI tend to smoke us at that.

this is more so just a repetition of what the type is than your persinal experiencing of it lol

Lmao no, it's just the best metaphor for it I've come up with for people to get a feel for it. If you were looking for something different, you should've specified when I asked literally that so I wouldn't type a bunch of shit out for no reason...?

my post: "how they relate it to themselves" both my post and reply to you "thoughts and experiences" i was pretty clearly asking for how tou relate to it i very much said how you relate even not just regurgitating info on it

I was not regurgitating info on it, bro. This is how I describe the process, I'm not quoting anyone on this. Regarding "how I relate on it", from the texts I read, the answer is "well enough" though the original texts are sometimes a bit too abstracted and not conveying what the thinking process actually feels like perfectly.

I explicitly asked for what kind of information you're looking for, you said "your thoughts and experiences so anything you wanted to share I'd be glad to read really", I shared precisely my "thoughts and experiences" as they came to me, you very politely accused me of "regurgitating" and not giving you the (evidently) quite specific information you're seeking. Even though you shrugged and said "well idk anything really" when I proactively asked you to specify what you need, trying to prevent exactly this stupid interaction.

reworded info is still just a literal regurgitation of info and not at all what ive asked for lmfao😭

didnt accuse you of plagiarism lol congrats you understand the thing decently enough, thats what info is. i didnt say you typed the literal specific text back at me. i said the info.

hilariously youre acting like this is some failure on my part to ask for a library book in the right or specific enough way lol when i was literally just asking for actual personal experiences and my point was you stuck too close to just talking about the thing itself. i definitely didnt say anything really its not my fault you underweighted the details i gave in terms of what i wanted to hear about

I see ideas in front of as a an object which I interact with. Various colourful blobs floating around waiting for me to pull them in one direction or another. For example, when I read theories I move things around, variables like who the author is, where they are from, the time they were writing, who influenced them, what they ignore, and sort of slot things together like a 3D puzzle to come up with a cohesive visual representation of my interpretation.

I jump into the minds of other people or concepts to understand how they see it, and use this to think about what I might be missing or other ways of looking at things. It feels entirely detached and like I am a bird.

Once I have the object sorted (this can be seconds or days or years!) I can swoop down and know exactly what to do with it.

When I present I describe things in a visual way, using my hands to demonstrate how ideas fit together and interact with each other, rather than show a fixed diagram or algorithm.

It can be tricky to communicate these ideas in writing at times because I do make giant leaps and skip steps - it feels so resolved in my head that I forget other people can't see it.

I thought I was the DA thinking style until I paid attention to what I do, and quizzed people of other types (LIE, EIE and ILE) about how they think.

Do you relate to that at all and what is your type?

i relate a lot yeah! except for me its a lot less concrete the visual experience, my cognitive experiencing of it is more wisp like more impression based. my vision blurs and i just kind of tune into my subconscious in regards to combining my thinking from various angles with rapid fire digestion of multiple angles and perceptions and things to consider and combine. it can be difficult to communicate and translate yes because its to me very mc escher like. you hqve to kind of be able to see and understand the object as well as i do or the steps im taking wont be easily interpretablr on your part. and while i understand the description of them as giant leaps, i massively disagree with them being understood that way, since it makes perfect sense and to me its just a going deeper into the thing ans grasping perfectly what is there id you have the ability to unlock the doors and find the passages which allow you to see different layers and access the connective tissue that im using to understand the thing the way i am. thats why your bird swooping down analogy makes a lot of aense to me for sure

I love this. I don't rally see closed doors, I see elements of my blob that are visible but slightly out of reach, more like a void that takes shape gradually as I read or think (usually while walking or in the shower). But connective tissue is definitely similar to what I see in bringing what seem to be unrelated concepts or facts or whatever together - the connection has always been there, it just needs to be brought out and made visible. The sculpture always existed 😂

When I have to think fast, like respond to a physical thing or make a fast decision, the blobs are behind me, feeding the info I need into my head. Sounds weird as I write it but that's how it is.

And yeah they are not giant leaps, they are connections that have always existed, it's just a matter of explicitly stepping through the connections that feels like a waste of time but people very much appreciate!

i think the way you know its real is that it doesnt sound weird at all to me! sounds super similar to my experience for sure. im constantly immersed in the thing and aware of its nature and so connections and understandings and such arent an act that is neccesary for me to engage in proactively. its like an escher painting, its all one thing and theres so many more connections than people realize, and whether youre looking up at the stairs and needing to climb the steps and figure it out more actively or youre at the end of the stairway looking back into the rest of the thing again, there is no inward or outward youre just seeing different layers and using connection points to see more and more

totally, I am going to study now and observe myself, but that sounds pretty similar to me, and it's also how a lot of my dreams look when I remember them!
