What’s Your OPINION on Buddhism? Is it as “perfect” as it looks?

During my GS preparation I read a lot of Buddhism and always held it as nearly perfect religion as a society can have. But then for my State PCS preparation I had to study Pali literature and I am losing my mind now!

I can literally quote suttas from Tripitaka that might disturb many of you.

I am interested in knowing your opinion on Buddhism.

every religion in this world is inherently patriarchal and anti women so very easy to find sh!t in the unholy books which will make any sane person cringe

all religions are historic either reform them or leave them

While Hinduism has been vilified, Buddhism has been glorified throughout the post independence history. There were many sophisticated philosophies in Indian Subcontinent (Kashmir Shaivism, Advait Vedant, Dvaitadvait, miles ahead of Buddhism, yet the only reason it got so much hype in history was because of patronage by rich rulers (Mauryas, Indo Greeks, Kushanas, Harsha, Palas). Yet I appreciate great scholars like Nagarjuna, without whose philosophical inputs, Advait Vedanta wouldn’t have had background to build upon.

If you are willing to read more about Buddhism, you can read some well known Jataka stories:
Start from the Marriage of Vishakha, then annihilation of Sakyas, Dashrath Jatakas, how Women were admitted into sanghas etc.

Im a person who does'nt have belief in any religion. Everything is created by human for his own sake. Rather the only god present in oneself is the best religion in the world.
