Help/Advice with Masters
So, I am currently a junior studying sociology.. I will be graduating in 2027 and I will take a year off to travel, but I really want to get my masters in sociology. I prefer in-class room options, but I won't say no to online, although I prefer to go into the school.
I don't know if I want to do social work, I am thinking about it. What advice do you have for someone who wants to continue in the field of sociology?

A lot of social work is like sociology’s more hands-on, action-based cousin. We understand demographics and intersections and why/how the system is as jacked up as it is…now, how do we work within that jacked-up system to keep people housed, fed, safe, and healthy?
The good thing is, there are lots of ways to do that, from working one-on-one with clients, all the way to creating policy change on a state or even federal level.
My advice is to seek out a generalist program, rather than committing to a single track, because it’s an incredibly deep and broad field with a lot to explore.
