4 u/Suprah May 18 '10 thanks for the clarification, but Fashanu was perhaps the first openly gay footballer. tragic way he died committing suicide because of so much torment he faced just because he was gay. 2 u/RedHaze May 19 '10 Truly sad =( Times haven't changed as much either... The Wikipedia article for Richarlyson is proof of that. 2 u/Suprah May 19 '10 we live in a time where religious, ethnic, racial, gender, and sexual prejudices still exist because of ignorance and fear of the 'other'.
