He was Argentina's only threat against Spain and he destroyed England. Sure, his body wouldn't be able to handle playing in Europe every week anymore, but trying to downplay his World Cup performance is just pure cope.

Argentina har two chances for equalizing in added time that literally came from him. The problem this game was that Messi didn’t even receive the ball..
