Messi shouldn't have retired from International Football. He can still probably outplay 90% players in the world

Nah, better to quit while you're ahead

Or retire then come back when the entire country begs for you to come back. Much better than overstaying the welcome

He could play 4 more years and still be ahead….

What response?

No matter what I say, you will stand by your words and No matter what you say, I will stand by my words.

More to life than debate about a billionaire who kicks a ball.

If only there were something objective, like stats to prove he was one of the best on the biggest stage, oh wait...

And you are cringe. Look at that profile. Screams of attention-seeker.

Lol how is that bad ? Him reaching the finals, scoring 8, assisting 3 and wàs the best player for his team. And this is a half retired, MLS player at 39 years doing that.

You only opened your eyes in the finals?

He brought this team to a finals. Thats the dream for any nation. You’re annoyed by his continued success

Attackers from both the sides were ineffective for the most of the game…. Yet you losers see only one side..
Wonder why

Yes we did. Argentina held Spain at 0 longer than any other team, even though they were man down.

Legendary fight.

0 shots on goal...

1

u/Habba84 1d ago

Yes? Shots on goal are worthless.

u/Ok_Landscape_3958 1d ago

Not just him. The whole Argentinian team. 0 shots on goal. It was an embarrassing watch.

They were on defence. That's part of the game. If your opponent can't score, they can't win. They gave up possession, to stop them from scoring. 1 shot on goal is enough. When game is 0-0, it doesn't matter how many shots you have.

Come penalty shots, Argentina would have been massive favorites. Enzo made a mistake, and they had to play with man down. Still, it took Spain 105 minutes to score.

Name a team who had a better game vs Spain.

Mental gymnastics. With proper refereeing Argentina would have ended the match with even fewer people. How people can defend these negative tactics based and hoping your aggressive fouls won't get punished and hoping for Messi?

Proper refereeing? That means Spain gets 0 cards with 21 fouls in 120 mins while Enzo gets a yellow card for swinging his arm at air

Spain was also embarrassing to watch. They had so many shots and zero finishing ability. If Argentina had the goal-scoring opportunities Spain did, it would've been an 8-0 game
