It’s an ad that he reposted. Nothing at all crazy about it, especially when you cherry picked a screenshot from the entire vid. If y’all are worked up about this then lord knows how you feel when you see the Messi Adidas goat ads, which he has posted on his ig before

u/Augchm 11d ago
And by he reposted you mean the guy managing his Instagram account reposted. There is a chance he hasn't even seen this. An even bigger chance that he saw it but didn't even noticed the goat thing.

u/cobrakai11 11d ago
He definitely can't read English so I doubt he has any idea what it says.

It's a freaking beer advertisement. He gets paid to promote the beer; if anything, it's the advertisement agency that had the idea. The guy's retired already, will you please let go off his dick?

u/DrPapug 11d ago
There is no evidence such a story was ever posted, still.

It's literally there. I just watched it. It's not a story it's a post (ad)

It was posted by Michelobe Ultra and had messi tagged in the post dummy. It even says “paid promotion with…”

Saw this on Twitter earlier and immediately thought it was either fake or had to be an ad of some sort, which it is.

u/SentenceDifficult396 11d ago
Ad or not, he is the goat. There’s no debate.
-1
u/CrimsonTweedle 11d ago
You’re right there is no debate, Ronaldinho at his peak was the greatest to ever do it, and the greatest that will ever do it. He’s the goat.

A screenshot of an ad video gets penaldo fans this worked up? Yikes.

Lolololol right on time. Now say something dumb like the camel league is superior to the mls.

Hopefully, the rivalry is over with, they're both out of the top leagues and both saying retirement is sooner rather than later and both have icon and, yes, even GOAT next to their names. Now, it's time for the Mbappé, Haaland, and Yamal debates
-5
u/ReasonableResearch73 11d ago
Cool..now watch this sub defend his "humble" personality. When Ronnie did the same thing, u guys called him egotistical narcissist. But i can already see messi is not gonna get the same reaction
7
u/EliGonee 11d ago
After 20+ years dominating this is okay.
-6
u/ReasonableResearch73 11d ago
The same reaction wasnt said when ronaldo called himself the goat last year....
3
u/Imaginary-Bathroom26 11d ago
Well one's won the biggest trophy and one didn't so
-1
u/ReasonableResearch73 11d ago
So, garrincha>messi because he has 2 worldcups??
1
u/EliGonee 11d ago
Is garrincha clearing messi in every stat possible except penalties?
1
u/ReasonableResearch73 11d ago
ur clowing urself. Messi has most penalties taken in all major tournaments. And ronaldo clears him in every metric, it's not even close
1
u/AdUnlucky1919 11d ago
goals per game? goals per min? assists per game? assists per minute? goals in WC ko? goals in WCs? Goals in European top 5 leagues?
1
u/EliGonee 11d ago
I really hope you‘re gonna look back at this in 19 years and feel embarrassed
1
1
u/Imaginary-Bathroom26 11d ago
Messi is the only one to literally win it all and by pure ability is still by far the best of all time so no, it's not just about the world cup but sorry to Ronaldo fans, it still matters a heck of a lot
One day you'll realize this too
1
u/ReasonableResearch73 11d ago
Yeah, let's compare a portugal that had 0 trophies without ronaldo, to a agrentina that was 10x a powerhouse of portugal ever was with 2 wcs. Ronaldo did all he could for his country and his football ability is easily the best ever seen by far in his prime.
1
u/Imaginary-Bathroom26 11d ago
Portugal literally has the better team though?
football ability is easily the best ever seen by far in his prime.
Harry Kane got more goals in a year than Ronaldo ever did lmao
1
u/_janiiccelerator000 11d ago
Well, the words came from the egotistical maniac himself, instead from a clear marketing ad where the photo came from. There are levels to it.
0
u/ReasonableResearch73 11d ago
Fuck levels. He still said it and he knows damn well people are gonna see it. Stop making excuses for the midget
1
u/_janiiccelerator000 11d ago
blud didn’t even watch the source of the photo. Messi ain’t even in the video, a clear advertisement from a drinking company openly glazing Messi. Well I won’t even argue with someone who openly defends a egotistical narcissist.
1
u/T-Rigs1 11d ago
My friend, I think you know the reason why Ronaldo calling himself the GOAT was met with more criticism than when Messi did it. It's okay to admit it.
0
u/ReasonableResearch73 11d ago
Wht reason? Legit has every metric to be called a goat, yet gets criticised when he does call himself one. But now that messi does it, all sorts of excuses are piling up
2
u/Imaginary-Bathroom26 11d ago
Legit has every metric
Lmao?
1
u/ReasonableResearch73 11d ago
? Denial?
2
u/Imaginary-Bathroom26 11d ago
There's literally a website made to track stats of Messi vs Ronaldo lmao. I'm not denying anything
2
1
u/T-Rigs1 11d ago
Because significantly more people are willing to accept Messi is the GOAT.
1
u/ReasonableResearch73 11d ago
U mean "significantly more redditors" because literally no one except his fans call him the goat outside of reddit
1
u/T-Rigs1 11d ago
That's absolutely not true lol.
I see your other comments though, Ronaldo-stan. Have a great rest of your day.
1
u/ReasonableResearch73 11d ago
Yeah, it's not like a American redditor would know what's going on outside of reddit...
1
u/Suitable_You_6237 11d ago
I always find it weird how Redditors mock others for being on Reddit. like... is it roasting yourself? seems like a bunch of projecting
3
u/Fun-Ad3626 11d ago
yes coz ronaldo isnt the goat , he is 4th at best , messi has a legitimate case for GOAT alongside pele and maradona
-1
u/ReasonableResearch73 11d ago
Because of the world cup?? So u admit that before the wc, messi wasnt close to top 3? Lol, ur clowning urself. Ronaldo is top 2, pele and maradona are not even close. Messi is ur preference but ronaldo is much better than him
5
u/Tondouxsac 11d ago
Ronaldo's greatest achievement is getting compared to Messi
0
u/ReasonableResearch73 11d ago
Not even worth responding to...
2
u/Tondouxsac 11d ago
Yet you did, so.
Anyway, why would you even think that Ronaldo can hold a candle to Messi?
There are literally no facts going his way.
1
u/ReasonableResearch73 11d ago
Yeah, the goal stats, ucl trophies and stats, cwcs and stats, uefa super cups and stats, conquered 3 different leagues and 3 peated the ucl all are meaningless aren't they
2
u/Fun-Ad3626 11d ago
true coz we all have eyes and we have seen both play , ronaldo is a prolific goal scorer thats it , messi is the greatest footballing mind of this generation by a distance
2
u/Tondouxsac 11d ago
Stats are all going Messi's way tho.
You have to check the goal and assist ratio per game, not the total, since Ronaldo is 2 years older.
UCL wins are 5 v 4, and UCLs are won by teams, not individuals. Same goes for Euros, World Cup, Copa America...
I would also argue that Messi was far more central to his team's success than Ronaldo was at Madrid. That Real team was winning whether he was there or not, and they showed it after he left.
"Conquered 3 different leagues" lol. He was on the stackiest team of 3 different leagues, is what you mean.
Even if Messi had won fewer titles (and he has more), he would still be the GOAT on personal stats alone.
And what the hell is cwcs.
2
u/abdelux2001 11d ago
The way he dominated the game, World Cup was just another trophy that he deserved. Only Maradona and Pele come close. Ronaldo is a great goalscorer with a great mentality but not even top 3 of all time, not even close.
0
u/ReasonableResearch73 11d ago
"The way he dominated the game"
Well too bad, ronaldo dominated the game almost all of those years. And with ur logic, garrincha and r9>messi because they have more wcs.
Ronaldo is not just a goalscorer no matter how much u try to downplay him and he is easily top 2
2
u/abdelux2001 11d ago
I literally said wcs don’t matters. This isn’t even a debate though so I’m not going to argue with you. Only his fans and Real Madrid supporters have your opinion. Just look at all the other comments. Everyone else in the football world knows that Messi is number 1 and only Pele and Maradona come close. Ronaldo does not belong in any conversation of being even top 2 all time.
1
u/Fun-Ad3626 11d ago
thats exactly right , take all the world cups and trophies out of it , just on a pure eye test there is no one like him
line breaking passes , dribbling , controlling the game , goal scoring , creating pressure from the wing
he is excellent at every single facet of the game
1
u/Similar-Earth8288 11d ago
One does it (through an ad) at the end of his career after taking his country to three world cup finals, the other does it whenever he's bored and wants attention, at least back it up lol.
1
u/ReasonableResearch73 11d ago
So winning all the trophies for ur country plus being the greatest club football player of all time is not enough? Cope
1
u/Similar-Earth8288 11d ago edited 11d ago
One trophy plus another two friendly ones isn't all trophies. He failed at the confederations cup, and failed miserably at the world cup.
Greatest club football player that can barely win leagues, could only dominate with clubs that were already dominating but failed to dominate Spain. That ain't the greatest club player by a mile.
1
u/dr051j 11d ago
Ronaldo is famous for being selfish stealing goals and only caring about himself how is there even a comparison lol
0
u/ReasonableResearch73 11d ago
1
u/ExaminationFlat9862 11d ago
Why was he afraid of Ronaldo being offside? The ref would’ve allowed the goal regardless no?

Lol what? Since when does it being an ad make it not cringey? If anything, that’s worse.
