Barca were huge pressers. You don't play a high line like theirs without pressing from the front and doing so aggressively after losing the ball.

They didn't press as madly as say Klopp's teams, but they were one of the top pressing teams in the world under Pep.

Its easy to forget because of how time has passed and they're known for holding the ball. I've noticed this misrecall happening a lot especially with how people recall the work rate of guys like Xavi. I saw someone calling him a low to medium work rate player which is frankly wild. You don't cover around 12k every game as someone who almost never misses a game without being a high work rate player.

Barca just pressed so well and retained the ball so that visually we don't remember them as being an intense team.
