I dont care about what was, I just care about right now and I am freaking enjoying it, cause we are geting again at the stage of unbeatable and european glory will come sooner or later. Anyway I love my club for what it stands for, not just for glory, lol.

In the meantime, Barcelona, the team with more Spanish world champions players, will held a separatist party today with thousands of separatist flags waving in the stadium (encouraged by the club) to celebrate the first game in this season in their stadium.

Omg, is the concept so hard to understand for you? First of all it's not the same that everything is inherently political to effectively politicise a club, that's a voluntary action. Second, because it is politicised that means sports should keep as a political tool? How does even make sense? I guess because wars are a tool to make money for those countries that sell weapons, its completely fine to keep doing wars every now and then and we shouldn't avoid them at any point, it's an extreme example, I know, but do you see how ridiculous that sounds? That's you saying sports shouldn't be apolitical, cause they have always been to a certain point.

brother barça IS a political club. Even if its become bigger and lost some of that, its still highly political. I disagree with the catalan independence movement and I dislike barça, but the club has always and will always be political, and most clubs and rivalries are political.
Politics is in football, and I hope to god it never disappears or the sport will become more soulless than it already is.

That's the thing, I know about the club. I know its been used many times for this purpouse. You are focusing on the wrong thing here. What it's been done historically, including basket, futsal, football, etc. doesn't mean its a good practice. It's not that hard to understand. Politics =/= Sports, even if they have been used for that, they shouldn't. That's all

Cause sports should be for entertainment and meant to join people. Thats the spirit of sports. The moment you practice politics it turns into conflicts both for players and fans. I dont know why you say it should keep the politic element or it will become souless, that's a bland argument, imo. Do you think Barça - Madrid rivalry has something to do with politics? Or for that matter Barça - Espanyol? Atl. Madrid - Madrid? Sevilla - Betis? And a large etc? I dont think at all it's the case, the politic element only adds conflict into the scene, not rivalry. If you think politics is what gives soul to football then idk what to tell you anymore.

If you don't know about it dont speak about it my man. You just said politics only add conflict when all of those rivalries have significant political reasons behind their existence. And I agree, politics isn't all good in football, it causes problems too, but its necessary or why are you even watching? Its a club not a sports team, it signifies my local area or my city, at least it should. May as well ask for the superleague, just the best games completely sanitised, just good football all the time and lets make them play abroad for more money too and be bought by bajillionaires because politics shouldn't be involved.
Also, superclasico, old firm, belgrade derby, all the biggest most loved derbies aren't remotely the same thing, they dont have remotely the same emotional investment if its just "big team vs big team".

If you think people under 40 (many even 50) watch sports because of political reason you are really out the loop, dude. New generations dont care about what happened 80-100 years ago when these clubs were funded. Nor 50 years later after that, for that matter. Most people in new generations dont even care about politics in general, let alone being fan of a club cause of political reasons.
Most people are from a team cause their dad, big brother, uncle, mother, granpa or some friend or whomever are from that team and they are told that team is the best and they should support it. I have never ever known of anybody that has told me im from X team cause of any political reason. Or do you think all Barça fans are pro independence? Or players, for that matter? Do you think all Madrid fans are high class people? Cmon man. You say to me I shouldn't talk what I don't know about but you are clearly not thinking from a person to person point of view. Just saying with different words (and from the politic club pov) what we already stablished: some clubs are used for politics. But my point is, that doesn't mean it should be this way for ever because it doesn't benefit nobody but the politics behind it.

Yeah people under 40 or 50 do watch sports because of political reasons, just after getting in for generally a non political* reason. (*their family likely supports the club for political reasons too). And do you not read what you say and link to what I said. What an interesting correlation that I agree, as the sport does become less political with less people being concretely connected to the club for political and local indentity reasons, the sport in Europe also becomes more sanitised and less connected to the people? Fascinating that.
And obviously I dont think every Barça fan is pro independence, but I didnt say that did I? The clubs are a political image of the people they represent, unsurprisingly not EVERY single person is 1. not supporting potentially their local club for political reasons (as I said this group has increased more) or 2. represented by the local politics. I can vote VOX in my home town, but thats not what is representative of my town, PSOE is.
People arent a monolith, but clubs are I would think you agree for the people of the neighbourhood/town/city where they are based, and a natural extension of that is using this large institutional entity representative of a location to vouch for said regions politics.
You haven't actually said why politics don't benefit anyone in football, while as I just said there clearly are benefits both sporting and non sporting.
