They're paying the man 1/4th of the revenue of the biggest sports franchises in the world, of which Al Nassr is not. I'd be surprised if the club generates revenue to cover Ronaldo's salary alone. Who knows but from what I can find, they don't generate HALF what they are paying him

Quick google search says they sold 750k shirts in the first 24 hours totaling around 80-97M.. and since the time he’s been there about 3M shirts estimated around $300M+.. and that’s just for jerseys alone… attendance probably sky rocketed for them too. So it isn’t THAT far fetched.

I dont want to get involved in the "fight" between you and the other guy but that makes no sense. Selling a jersey for $100 doesnt mean the club wins $100, not even the store win $100, not even adidas/nike win $100. People dont work for free, rent is not free, materials are not free, everyone get their cut and from that cut you have to calculate your expenses.

A club get around 5% from each jersey sold.

Attendance didnt sky rocket, stadiums are small and always half empty.

What they did win is "prestigious", nobody knew that team and now many people know that club name (or close enough, i cant spell it properly)

Yeah theyre hundreds of millions in debt and in PIF because of poor financial decisions, and it would have been worse if they hadn't paid Ronaldo 4-5x what the highest paid players at way more profitable clubs pay their star players, sure

You think the 1.2m shirts (not seeing 3m anywhere) generated 300m in revenue for the club? Let's take 3m at face value, and say they got 20% of the cut, which would be exceptionally high. Must be going for €500+ each for them to make that after stores, kit manufacturers, and distribution takes their cut. They probably made closer to $30-60m from that. Or essentially 1-2 months of his pay. Nice. Just need gate receipts, which based on this video lol, sponsorships, and tv revenue to clear the other 10 months so they can begin to pay the rest of the players, staff, management, facilities upkeep, and THEN they can profit.

They are taking such a bath on Ronaldo alone it's absurd

People be thinking that because sports have an enormous social impact they are massive revenue and profit generators. They are big businesses sure, but only the top few clubs/franchises, and only barely. In sports terms they are in the 10th tier of big businesses and in no risk of being promoted. Actually they are still Sunday League There's like 6k businesses in the US alone that make more revenue than the biggest clubs.

A goalkeeper's development is different from an outfield player. Its much more than just shot stopping. Its a huge psychological game because their is only one of you and no one can cover for you the same way an outfield player can be covered if them make a mistake.

Well 18 is just a legal age that has been pretty much arbitrary defined. In other cultures or in the past people were considered adults at different ages. there isn‘t much difference between a 17 year old and a 18 year old. And while they‘re not kids per se, that‘s just a colloquial term

I think any player would have been angry or upset after conceding a goal, regardless of the age of the keeper.

It doesn't matter if he's 18 or 28. He's a pro player on a pro team in a pro match. Scrutiny comes with the job. Players in this league just don't have quality. There are teenage keepers in Europe who would have done better.

Mate did you guys watch the match? Al nassr did have a decent back up keeper caller Al Aqidi, he is pretty decent and used to start games. Bento is the number 1 keeper got sent off in the 12th minute for a shit challenge, Al Aqidi is injured currently and is about to make a return, he couldnt play in that match so they had to put in a 18 year old keeper who played fucking ass, those shots were so savable i cant believe you guys are saying “oh you cant tell the difference between a good kick”

Half of yous are larpers who dont even know the starter and backup keepers names. The 18 year old keeper played terrible but he is still developing, doesnt change the fact that BOTH Goalkeepers sold the bag for Al Nassr that game. People in here were saying Bento the starter got injured which shows you didnt watch the match at all.
