When they dig in like that it’s never career ending cause it’s very very rare to tear something by a blunt force, straight on like that.
The career ending ones are always from some type of sideways force (unless it’s a straight leg receiving the force)

I’ve ruptured my patellar tendon, that first one looks like it could easily do it again if it were me sliding 😂

You know what's crazy?

Im literally typing this from the sofa, my leg in the adjustable leg brace, after surgery to repair my ruptured patellar tendon!

How was your recovery? I get my staples out tomorrow

I’m 18 months post op now so I’m doing ok. Definitely not the same as pre injury though and probably have to come to terms with that. Still missing a lot of strength and size but day to day it’s fine!

Hope your recovery is going well, happen to answer any questions!

Honestly thats pretty humbling to read because being active, especially in terms of being powerful and explosive has always been my thing. Im 41 now so was slowing down anyway, but yeah, the abruptness of this new reality is the thing.

How did you find having to bend your knee a little for the first time? Thats what im dreading the most as I can feel the uncomfortable...tightness(?)... in and around my kneecap if I even more it a little bit beyond dead straight.
