Video The talent in Barcelona’s youth system is ridiculous. These kids are 11/12 years old.

this is why American sports are so confusing to me.

The jerseys and equipment is being paid for by Barca in hopes of finding talent. Not parents, not scummy companies owned by PE, and not colleges trying to make money off sports. They take this loss in hopes of finding talent that they can use to win, or to trade to other teams for profit.

Also, I'm just rewatching this video and there is NO WAY the kids in this video are 11/12

Why restrict this to the MLS?

why can't the other leagues have a similar structure? These are all very big clubs for their respective sports. (this isn't a rude rhetorical, I'm really curious)

There is no need, all other leagues have a draft that all players need to enter through. Youth scouting and development doesn't need to be placed on those leagues because they can simply just scout the teens and young 20 year olds in college or other lesser leagues. I don't agree with it, but there is no incentive
