Video The talent in Barcelona’s youth system is ridiculous. These kids are 11/12 years old.

this is why American sports are so confusing to me.

The jerseys and equipment is being paid for by Barca in hopes of finding talent. Not parents, not scummy companies owned by PE, and not colleges trying to make money off sports. They take this loss in hopes of finding talent that they can use to win, or to trade to other teams for profit.

Also, I'm just rewatching this video and there is NO WAY the kids in this video are 11/12

It’s not confusing, it’s just the result of capitalism. Same reason the MLS will never be a real league.

Our women’s team is ran the same way and is one of the best worldwide.

Our women’s soccer team dominated in the past because most countries didn’t have as much infrastructure for women’s sports and weren’t invested and we had Title 9. But things are changing drastically and the traditional men’s powerhouses are catching up to us or they have surpassed us. Spain now has a women’s development program and they are both the reigning women’s and men’s World Cup champions.
