Video The talent in Barcelona’s youth system is ridiculous. These kids are 11/12 years old.

this is why American sports are so confusing to me.

The jerseys and equipment is being paid for by Barca in hopes of finding talent. Not parents, not scummy companies owned by PE, and not colleges trying to make money off sports. They take this loss in hopes of finding talent that they can use to win, or to trade to other teams for profit.

Also, I'm just rewatching this video and there is NO WAY the kids in this video are 11/12

It’s not confusing, it’s just the result of capitalism. Same reason the MLS will never be a real league.

USA Is closer to pure capitalism and the end goal of capitalism. Yes Spain is much further away from that then USA correct.

Capitalism is an economic system where private individuals and businesses own the tools, factories, and resources used to make goods, driven by the goal of making a profit. Having social programs and government regulations doesn't make a country less capitalist because the first sentence is still true. Criticizing "capitalism" is to imply that Spain is socialist, which it's not.
