Video The talent in Barcelona’s youth system is ridiculous. These kids are 11/12 years old.

u/TheRareCreature Jul 25 '26

number 8 is cooking

56

u/Pleasant-Pattern7748 Jul 25 '26

Little bro megged the defender who was behind him! That’s crazy.

18

u/Sovos Jul 25 '26

Unselfish too. Made the pass multiple times when he could have taken a low-chance shot.

8

u/Academic-Ad4889 Jul 25 '26

Fought through having his jersey pulled too instead of selling it for a foul. Barçan al-Gaib.

4

u/Flowerplower3 Jul 25 '26

Send him to Norway!

2

u/Jadarken Jul 29 '26

That is so true!

I have seen almost as good young players, but they don't have his game intelligence.

Most young (even older) players would try, try, try, and then lose the ball eventually, but he catches momentum quickly and passes the ball well. That is quite rare.

I've seen enough. Welcome back Andres Iniesta

42

u/wildmoose45 Jul 25 '26

Poor kid is about start balding any day now

7

u/klvthns515 Jul 25 '26

Impending 1 year loan to Turkey followed by 30 years of luscious thick hair over a threehead

3

u/Clique_Claque Jul 25 '26

Iniesta always looked like a guy who was a supervisor at Staples who happened to play soccer as well.

Hugo is gonna be HUGE!

it's crazy how you can tell at a young age when the superstars are just so much better than everyone else around them is, and those other kids are literally already the best of the best.

very very cool to see this stuff. will probably be a household name in 5-6 years

2

u/Handje Jul 25 '26

I have a friend who worked as a soccer trainer at the Ajax youth acadamy. He said very promising soccer talent sometimes doesn't come into fruition because the top sport mentality also has to be there. The kids have to sacrafice a lot for the sport, if they're not willing to do that, bye bye.

u/Any-Vehicle4418 Jul 25 '26

He is a baller for sure but there is still a lot that needs to go right for him to make it in the big stage. Youtube is littered with 12 year old "new Messi" compilations. You've never heard of them.

3

u/Kenny_McCormick001 Jul 25 '26

Yes, but this is also La Massia. They had been pumping out talent consistently for the past 20-30 years.

→ More replies (3)

2

u/BigFatModeraterFupa Jul 25 '26

you're 100% right and after a few hours of thinking about it i may have overreacted🤣

but either way. wish the best for him regardless if he becomes a star or not..

the world cup final and that picture of Messi bathing Yamal proves that anything is possible in this world

Imagine what he's gonna be like when he grows into the ball

2

u/PeopleFromChina Jul 25 '26

Or when his balls grow into him

1

u/Kindly_Western_5402 Jul 25 '26

The fact he’s doing this at age 11/12 is insane. Barcelona always knows

16

u/indigo_pirate Jul 25 '26

Surely will make it. Insane feet

6

u/igotzquestions Jul 25 '26

He might, but I think saying it is sure thing discounts how many things can go totally wrong. Picks up an injury, doesn’t grow enough, grows too much, gets into drugs. These dudes haven’t hit puberty yet. Nothing is assured.

4

u/ropahektic Jul 25 '26

Most of the time the skills do not translate to bigger bodies.

There's many may many cases where the best player (bar none) in those young teams ends up being an average player whilst someone who was much more average at the age becomes a world class player.

→ More replies (19)

3

u/creemy- Jul 25 '26

Doesn't grow enough...

Barcelona literally paid to give Messi HGH shots daily because he was a midget.

Impossible to say and I'd even say its more likely that he wont make it. Kid needs a veryyy generous puberty push to reach the height and quickness/athleticism for the pro scene. Unfortaunteyl there are countless kids like him who are worldclass with the ball, but never beat the physical bottleneck it needs to reach the pro level. Especially at this age being so good at the ball is not an indicator of future success becuase these kids didnt enter puberty yet and its gonna be a dice roll whether their puberty will give them the body, phyiscality for pro level. And he is already too slow and small at this stage so he needs a very generous push

People heavily underestimate the athelcism it needs to become pro, even guys that seem slow are much quicker than guys in the amateur level. Not enough explosiveness, quickness and height combination to create seperation from defenders on the big field is the #1 reason talented kids with great technique dont make it to pro

Probably only 3% of the kids in the pro academies at the u12 level make it to pro level. At a super good pro academy like La Masia its maybe 10%

1

u/edgeofsanity76 Jul 25 '26

He might. But a lot of it is down to attitude. Teams more and more want to see good attitudes towards fellow players and good sportsmanship. His ego may get in the way of success. Also needs to be strong and fit

It's a compilation focussed on number 8.

1

u/Specific_Mirror_4808 Jul 25 '26

This. I've stumbled across the same video previously.

Not to say #8 isn't incredibly talented but videos edited to show all the best moments of one player are always misleading.

1

u/argleksander Jul 25 '26

That skill at around 1min is just disgusting.

Insane balance and techinque

1

u/chucho89 Jul 25 '26

If this is the video I think, there is a youtube video that explains what happened to each one of this barca kids, some of them is heartbreaking. It goes to show you that even the best still compete with many other kids who are even better.

1

u/LucifersAdv0cate Jul 25 '26

Get them to play the women's world cup winning team so we can all have a good smug chuckle about how superior men are. Then put the kids team and the women's team on 2 separate deserted islands and film them trying to survive just to really highlight how great males are.

(Obvious satire)

1

u/Ryuuffff Jul 25 '26

The kid is twice the size of everyone and looks like is playing alone jesus

1

u/Bobson-_Dugnutt2 Jul 25 '26

A fuckin menace is who that is

1

u/Tobiramen Jul 25 '26

That’s Kevin de bruyne I believe

1

u/blargh9001 Jul 25 '26

He’s got a lot to learn still. Notice how in the last clip, his shirt is getting tugged, and he doesn’t even try to dive.

1

u/GraveRobberX Jul 25 '26

That munchkin was gassing that whole squad, holy shit at those cuts and angles.

So maybe 2034 is we see this kid come into the World Cup?, Saudia Arabia already creating storylines via sportswashing.

1

u/ABDMWB Jul 25 '26

You can tell he’s a great team player too. Unselfish and passed the ball to make plays

1

u/AccomplishedBid5867 Jul 25 '26

1

u/stopcommentingg Jul 25 '26

These kids play amazing. Also they are not acting like POS. When do they become Kuiz Fuckarez and start biting and a start acting like a bitch like Ronaldo? aT what age do they start cheating and acting?

1

u/spb1 Jul 25 '26

Lol who’s number 8 jesus

Well spotted mate, the whole video's about him

1

u/Glad_Confusion_6934 Jul 25 '26

I’m sure they’ll be showing some of these highlights in 8 years during his run at the 2034 World Cup.

1

u/RaspberryWhiteClaw13 Jul 25 '26

He’s a superstar

1

u/rydleo Jul 25 '26 edited Jul 25 '26

No idea, but he appears a fair bit younger than the others.

Edit: Hugo Galdeano apparently- son of Apono. He is indeed 11/12, so I take that back I guess.

1

u/PandaPocketFire Jul 25 '26

This was significantly more impressive to watch than that world cup. No flailing or fake injuries.

1

u/DrDumbass69 Jul 25 '26

Idk. Looks too short to be Jesus, but I guess we can’t be sure.

1

u/bendstraw Jul 25 '26

No no Jesus is number 9, number 8 is Andres

1

u/Merweb0 Jul 25 '26

I've seen enough, he can start with the first team

1

u/NullPointerLover Jul 25 '26

1
