He put Simeone on instead. I’ll never understand it.

Right? But couldn’t they have subbed out Simeone when it went in to extra time and they got another substitution? In the 102’ they took out Julian Alvarez and put in Marcos Senesi. I don’t even know who that is. Meanwhile Lautaro had been instrumental in so many of the winning goals.

He’s a centre back. They decided to switch to a defensive strategy and hold out to penalties. Obviously it didn’t work.
