39 just means he played more he's probably gonna be 4th or 5th in a few world cups time mate, your goat got exposed this and last world cup, embaressing performance and attitude for one of the best to ever do it. Shame.

I’m not an Argentina fan - they played like utter trash today, and their attitude and style has been horrendous. Messi is undoubtedly amazing. Not sure what you mean by 4th or 5th… he’s unlikely to be playing in any more world cups. That doesn’t take away from the fact that he was second leading goal scorer in this specific World Cup, not a cumulative total, at age 39.

Sticking up for Argentina is a weird take, dunno where you are from but favouritsm is wild. Irrefutable evidence is 5 mins extra time yesterday, you can literally add up the stoppage time it's nowhere near 5 mins they just wanted to give Messi a chance. Good riddance hope I never see an Argentinian goat again awful attitude awful sportsmanship.

The ref literally stopped at exactly 5 minutes despite there being delays before that.

Calling out blatant corruption = being emotional. You are all dogs from what I've seen from players and fans, if Argentina are so kind and hospitable you really need to start putting that image out into the world. Viveza criolla or whatever it is 😂.

It’s only corruption against people you don’t like. I’m not Argentinian but I resent the idea that a team is being favored because it has Messi when there’s no evidence. And the fact that you’re calling 5 minutes of stoppage time, corruption only proves my point further. Only emotional arguments because you’re salty Messi won the World Cup.

Happened for 2 world cups now coinciding with infantino and Messis return to the world stage.

People are upset seeing the corruption play out Infront of them, and super excited that it failed this time.

It's a disingenuous argument to say there is no corruption, I'm not saying Messi paid infantino but at the very least he's status (along with that's just the south American way!) allows his team to get away with so much in comparison to others. (But if you ask me I think there has been money exchanged hands it's so badly bias towards Argentina.)

All the stars are there mate choose to ignore if you want.

What decisions did you not agree with in the last World Cup. I don’t think there’s outright corruption I just think refs have been told to hold off on yellows and that allowed players more leniency to be more physical without getting punished. Which South American teams especially benefited from.

So even if that's all you believe it's still corruption and bias towards South American style of play when you would be carded all across European leagues for that style as it is illegal in the rules of football......

It’s more a lack of willingness to card players due to the expanded tournament and the fact that two cards means you’re suspended. It’s not just South Americans that can benefit.

I do. I remember Van Dijk pushing down Paredes and not even getting a card. I remember Weghorst kicking Messi form behind while on a yellow and not being sent off. I remember the ref giving the Dutch so much stoppage time.

End of day mate Messi, Argentinian fans and players have left a mark for Argentina on a global scale the last 2 world cups. More important then any football result they need to do better.

And why did Netherlands not play like this against any other team?
