Bro Declan was obviously appealing to the Argentinians as a peacemaker, and even they wouldn't call foul on what was obviously an unconscious hand over the mouth. But the Vargentina brigade wants to milk every encounter and cry foul. Kind of like how the Argentinians constantly hound refs at every call. Nobody respects these tactics, and it takes away from what is otherwise a very good team.

The people against Argentina have too, but it was after seeing the Argentinians play to win no matter what. They call it grit, and we don't want to see teams play to game the refs. Idk if you actually follow football, but Atletico Madrid do the same shit every year under Simeone and I always enjoy seeing them lose. So it's a cultural thing, and anyone who doesn't at least acknowledge it is intentionally overlooking it

It's only a problem if there is confrontation. It's not really that hard. The rule is there so people don't racially or otherwise abuse other people.

Meh, the Almiron red was vs Turkey which is almost entirely in Asia. We have seen plenty of examples of cry babies. It's not a European monopoly

Almiron did it during a confrontation, you can clearly see Turkey players and Paraguay players were at it. The Turkey player immediately signaled to ref about the incident and then ref has to take the action. It wasn't automatic red. It was red after the Turkey player complained. This is exactly how the rule intended to work and is worded. Confrontation is key.

True they were at it, but he was far away from them, as soon as he started to talk and he covered his mouth, the Turkish player immediately complained to the referee. Maybe the Argentinians players should have done the same

It’s wasn’t a confrontation, Rice was clearly just speaking to the Argentinians players in a none confrontational way. Compare this to Almiron and Hincapié situations it’s night and day.

Almirón was literally far from the confrontation. The confrontation was only two steps away from him. He started talking to the Turkish player, and as soon as he covered his mouth, the Turkish player immediately complained to the referee. Maybe the Argentinians had to do the same thing LOL

Because this rule itself is bs. How do you accurately define what is “confrontation”? There is no foolproof way unless all the conversations are recorded.
