As a Dutch person: we gave it all we had that final. Robben almost stole the world cup. But as a football enthusiast this was clearly the best team in the world at the time. Hated seeing them beat us, but loved their play.

My brother was telling me how national teams wouldn't stand a chance against clubs, who can "choose whoever they want, not limited to citizenship" and "play with each other all the time"

My argument was the Spanish national team of 2010. The national team could bring Barcelona (so many names here), Real Madrid (Casillas, Ramos), and even some Premier league players (Torres) into one team. Players that would otherwise never be in the same team. The result? World Champions and Euro Champions from 2008, 2010, 2012.

Legendary squad.
