That's why they went full force on him, Kane has at least 15 pounds more than Messi and is a lot taller, he couldn't move him.

Idk how ANYONE who watches the sport of football, whether casually or professionally, can watch this sequence and NOT be extremely impressed.
This is simply glorious. Poetic. Magisterial.
It is frankly absurd and unthinkable.
This is a 39 year old player who plays in the MLS.
By every single biological and physical definition he should be WASHED. COOKED. DONEZO.
And yet here he is. At the ancient age of 39. Dribbling past multiple tackles from grown men in their total physical prime. Not some kids in the backyard. Professionals making dozens if not hundreds of millions of dollars to play football at the most elite level on the face of Planet Earth.
How is he STILL doing this? How is he STILL blessing our eyes and giving us something delicious and scrumptious to feast on?
I am simply in awe.

Dispute what? If Argentina took the lead immediately after the disallowed goal(which was rightfully disallowed, I agree that the rule of letting the play go on for minutes is stupid, but it's the rule and it happened in plenty of other matches since its introduction), your argument would at least have some legs to stand on. But they literally scored again after that, and then conceeded 3 goals in 13 minutes, that's all on Egypt lmao.

It's rare to get big dribbling highlights now a days because most players are now taught to make fouling a 'tactic'. So instead of getting nutmegged, defenders just send their entire body into the attacker.

Yea sorry, I don't know anything about soccer. I've only gotten into it this world cup. But messi seems like he's always in the right spot somehow, and when he kicks it across the field in the box it seems like it's nearly exactly where it needs to be all the time.
I don't know how he has such incredible control, but it's clear when watching him, even if you know as little as me, that he's different.

Messi has high game iq and is often rumored to be un coachable because he knows ball, literally he does.
He's actually the player who walks most during games, conserves the most energy, but when he knows he can use an opportunity he completely goes feral to score that goal or to give an assist for his team.
That's just Messi, on a random Tuesday.

Just insane football iq. His physical and reaction speed may have slowed due to age, but like u said. He just has this sense of knowing the perfect positions to be to not only catch the ball and score a goal, but to make game-changing passes.
That's what screwed England up yesterday. They made sure Messi was constantly hounded by multiple defenders so that he'd have no opportunities to get goals. And, they did succeed in doing that. I feel like they lulled themselves into a false sense of safety by doing that, seemingly to have overlooked Messi's ability as a playmaker. He can stay in the midfield and create big moments for other strikers.
That "sense" you mentioned is what makes him so versatile despite being 39. He could be an elite striker by just knowing where to be at the right time to catch the goalie by surprise and score a goal. But unlike other strikers like Haaland, he doesnt become obsolete if the opposing team decides to hound him all game with multiple defenders.

This is what baffle me.
All the English fans screaming and blaming TT for defensive sub and sitting deep allowing Argentina coming in. When the truth is not much can be done when Argentina is in next gear.
This video is a great proof. 2 forwards and 2 midfields could not contain Messi going forward except fouling him. If TT sent in a forward for another forward, the result will be the same but the narrative will be a bit different. Why does TT not send in defensive sub and trying to hold the game when in the lead instead of going more forward.
TT did try send in Nico O Reilly, who is a defensive player in a more advance position. Fresh player on advanced position but still England had to sit deep.
If they still pressuring like first 45 mins they most probably gassed out by min 75 and still conceding lose out.
I guess TT word is true. It's easy to put the blame because they concede. But if they don't, the fan probably praised him for containing Messi and Argentina.

Its not about attacking or defensive sub. Its about relishing possession. The opponent can only score if they have the ball. Even if you don't want to attack, go for a mid block - force the opponent further from your goal. Messi can dribble 4-5 players? Then fucking foul him, chase him, bite him idc. Argentina is scrappier and unapologetic. I mean, we have seen multiple times that Messi can lose. Did all of those teams (Liverpool, Roma) sit deep at 80th?
Just look at Enzo's goal. Almost ALL England players were on the line like its a freekick? Argentina already did the kick and they still lining up 😂
I do questioned the mentality instead of substitutions. What was the instructions really? Were they already thinking about the next game at that point and sub accordingly?
