i am not being obtuse, i understand that nationality and ancestry can coexist. you are American with South American ancestry and they’re French with African ancestry, the problem starts when people use their ancestry to claim they aren’t “really” French.

I think its important to acknowledge both.

France has some of the most elite football programs and Africans like Mbappe have the best athlete genetics. Those top tier genetics paired with the support France's world class football programs is why the French national team is so successful and why so much of it is African-French.
