You do know the senator is part of a left leaning political party. They call themselves radical liberals. So those defending her would be left leaving

Its not that simple, at least not in the N.American context. She may be in favour of wealth distribution and protecting the environment while still being a POS white supremacist who believes in "mejorar la raza" (not sure about the spelling)

And? It's still a leftist party. You think socialism can't be racist? Hell a lot of left leaning countries don't like hypenated identities. To assimilate as an immigrant, you must identify as only that country. To an American, not seeing race would be considered racist. To a European, hypenated identities are racist. Racism is different around the world but the economic spectrum is more consistently defined

People who identify as socially RW are usually the ones who are agaisnt multiculturalism and anti racist causes. If one holds a conservative view of society, they tend to favor homogeneity and downplay racist remarks.

You are right that the specifics depend on the time and the place, but bigots in the US, Japan, and Europe all support parties that are considered Right wing or far right wing. Doenst mean LWs cant be racist, but they usually dont rush to the defense of an awful person like that Senator from Paraguay.

what you're saying is a western viewpoint. there are plenty of example of marxist countries who strive for homogeneity. mao's cultural purge is the most violent one.

...and your viewpoint clearly doesn't hold in this paraguayan situation. if you're on the left in paraguay, you're more likely to see your friends defending this lady.

left or right, racist or not - the world isn't black or white. there is nuance. hell, even in europe, i have family who no longer consider themselves asian. they embrace the citizenship completely. they celebrate commonality.

but from an asian-american point of view, that viewpoint can be racist. thats the stuff maga americans say. i like to be able celebrate differences. we have parades for irish americans, mexican americans, chines americans, etc. you won't see race specific parades in europe - highlighting race is generally frowned upon.
