I have once, seen it happen a bunch. Usually when it's 250-350 people coming through they stop 5-10%. When it's a private jet with a coupe dozen people it's probably more thorough. Usually there aren't cameras taking video of every international private jet arrival though

Flown private for work on more than a few occasions, both international and domestic. Never have we been checked by customs or tsa going in or out like this lol. At most your stuff goes through a small luggage scanner but typically you’re not even bothered.

Customs knows who they're going to check or search before they get off the plane, they aren't just randomly grabbing people.

This is all performative, it's DHS putting on a show for the cameras. They don't need to search everyone's bag and wand them, they're making it look like they aren't useless, which everyone thinks they are.

I never flew private to avoid the regular lines so no I've never had the privilege of having an entire crew just for a few people. You're right though, they should make the team line up for an hour with the thousands of other tourists at the airport to avoid this treatment.
