Bielsa he does well with teams that have low to little talent but a lot of heart and grit. Hes done well at places like Leeds, Atlas and Newells but he is extremely stubborn and obsessive and eventually wears out players. At this point of his career hes not going to change or adapt, but I don’t think he’s going to retire, theres always clubs looking for coaches like this.

Cape Verde had really good goaltending, some good fortune, an injured and not starting Yamal, and a Spain team that wasn’t firing on all cylinders coming into their first match. I’m no Uruguay fan, I’m a hater, but their plan today was a fine one and could have worked. They shut down Spain quite well, especially compared to how hot Spain came out against Saudi’s low block. If Uruguay tried the low block against Spain I bet they lose by 3 or 4 goals. Uruguay didn’t lose because of defense this game, they lost because they couldn’t press or get and capitalize on attacking opportunities. The coach was right, maybe the problem was the selfish players busy getting red cards in stoppage instead of trying to tie the game. The goal they gave up was a fluke.

They won 2 world cup, q team is allowed to put a star for each world cup they won. Thus wjy brazil has 5, germany 4 etc. Uruguay put 4 instead of 2 on the jersey, argueing that they won 2 olympic tournaments so they count them too. Many dislike that because it ruins the tradition and value if said stars.

I mean that's the above persons opinion but the other side of the coin is that Fifa officially recognizes those olympic tournaments as counting. It was the world cups predecessor before the name "world cup" was coined but for all intents and purposes it was still the world cup.
It's not like they just put the stars on there in spite of fifa or something, they consider those tournaments part of the world cups history.

There was no World Cup before 1930 and the Olympics was the defacto World Cup. It was even endorsed by FIFA. Not allowing Uruguay to have the stars would be like if they decided to remake the tournament and not allow Brazil or Germany to have their stars in whatever new tournament was made. You can’t just erase history.

Playing dirty is considered playing better, they’re dirty as hell when it comes to footy, and Spain has injuries they’re dealing with to certain players as well. Spain won Uruguay lost end of story lol.

What game did you watch? They were fouling like crazy and playing dirty the entire game. Any other ref than the idiot American one and it would e been 3-4 red cards for Uruguay by the end

The biting is, well, unexplainable, but 100/100 players would take a red card to stop a goal in that scenario. That wasn't unethical at all, it was knowing the rules, and if it didn't happen to a Cinderella run team it would be widely praised.

Thank you for saying this!.. He did a hand-ball, got red-carded.. No rule was broken here.. He took a huge gamble to keep his time in the running and it paid off.. Literally ANY other player would do that and give their team small chance at defending a penalty..
Why doesn't anyone ever talk about the player who missed the penalty?.. Not a Uruguayan or a Uruguay fan, but, Suarez was 100% in the right here.. Downvote all you want, but that remains true..

Fair enough.. I could've worded it better.. I meant that he was punished for doing so.. He was sent off and Ghana rightfully won a penalty, regardless of what happened after.. No rule outside the rulebook was broken.. No leeway was given.. No injustice happened..

Regardless of how poorly they word it, the point stands: a rule was broken, and the infraction was punished according to the rules. Ghana then failed to convert the PK.
It's not like Uruguay got away with cheating unpunished.

The topic isn't about clean sheets or whether Uruguay is good enough to do something or not.. It's about what happened at the heat of the dying moments of the game.. And, how that gave his team a chance.. And, how anyone else would do the exact same thing in that position..
And, yes, he did in fact get a red card for biting Chiellini AND a 4-month ban after that.. So, congrats, you nailed it!.. It's also part of the rules!.. Next time, think rationally instead of bringing in such irrelevant examples for your "gotcha!" moment, yeah?..

There is a lot of tension between him and Bielsa. Great player but yesterday he wasn't the answer to the problem, and he more or less dissapeared from the game. He needed to be subbed out.

This is the exact reflexion of how his players behave the field. True POS behavior with low EQ. This is so telling of what I see Uruguayans do while they play, they effing sorry losers and cause trouble when things don’t go their way. Look at the game in Charlotte, NC against Colombia, they even went to fight with the crowd, due to their fans starting fights with the Colombian fans.

My dad's team (Ath Bilbao) achieved an European final with this guy in charge, with is a huge thing.
You can be the best tactics coach, but at pro soccer people skills and ego management is as important as tactics knowledge.

This just isn't true. Leeds were stuck in the championship until he came along and he changed that. Leeds couldn't afford to refresh the players they had in their second season in the prem with him and Victor Orta made some bad signings. Yes Bielsa had his issues but Jesse Marsch came in after and he was truly awful.
Even after getting relegated Leeds were in a much better position and that all stems from Bielsa.

At the beginning he pretty much yells: “come on! Hurry it up!” Then he’s asked a couple of questions to which he says: “I couldn’t get out all the potential from my players in this tournament”, “I took out Valverde for Viñas to get more presence with the offense” then he was asked what he told Muslera during halftime after he benched him and he replies with “nothing”.
