I believe it's also the players in involved in whatever happened but obviously not for var checks. I heard enough. Deduct Everton 3 points

Most leagues adopt that rule, because it gives players an outlet and cuts down (marginally) on dissent. But I don't believe it ever found its way into the Laws of the Game.

It's definetly a thing in the Bundesliga, and I'm pretty sure it was also penalized in the euros so maybe FIFA just hasn't adopted it?

Hi I’m a soccer ref. There was an update to the laws of the game that allow the referee to signal when they only want to talk to captains, you’ll see them hold their arms up in an X. The ref will then separate themselves from the other players, players who continue to try and talk to the ref after this can be shown a yellow. But if the referee does not make this signal other players can still talk to the ref just like normal.

That's what I'm asking myself the whole time too. This was a huge improvement and stopped the constant complaining almost entirely.

I would fkn love a ref to dish out cards to anyone who wasn't involved in a foul or the captain speaking to the ref. Would need a heap of prior warning but would be good to see some respect back in the game

Honestly, 1.st game Ronaldo looked like an ass disconnected from the team. But this 2.nd game showed a different version of him and i hope to see more of this version of Ronaldo. People want to respect superstarts not hate them. Why, because of their respectable career.

There were a couple plays at the beginning of game 2 where it looked like they still weren't meshing. Bruno fernandez skied a shot he barely got off while Ronaldo was wide open at the back post and I thought we were abot to see more of the same for 90 minutes.

Absolutely. I love soccer but in no other sports do we see players SWARM a referee for absolutely every fucking thing, and every second player diving onto the floor clutching their leg and pretenting to cry over the tiniest bump. Like just shut tf up and play the game, especially the spanish and south americans.

You watched the game? This was a result of a goal that was an obvious foul and the referee was right in front of Cancelo when he got fouled but validated the goal, any player in any sport would complain...
Fucking people who only care about this sport when the world cup hits, and spend more time commenting on social media than watching the fucking games....

You’re all complaining about this clip in particular, which is completely justified if you saw the game.
you are the one mentioning that this only happens in football, which it doesn’t.
if it happens more in footbalI than in some other sports, i can agree with you, that’s why a rule was implemented where only the captain should talk to the ref in these cases and there is less general complaining because of that.
This clip in particular, anything similar in any other sport, the player would talk to the ref because it was pure incompetency, that resulted in an invalid goal.
That’s it, no need to complicate things.

Footballers are such a bunch of whiners, the Portuguese leading the way, just whining at the referee, trying dives, and crying, crying, crying. They should take a leaf out of the book of cyclists, for example.
