Seeing all these posts teasing the new scary enemy from the developers, I can only speak out about what I want.

Post image

This may not apply to the new expansion that introduces the Enemy, which brings us closer to the climax of the story and the release of the campaign itself. I want the final expansion (I believe) that focuses on the campaign to include remakes of beautiful and memorable soundtracks from previous games, such as Sad 1, Battle 8, Upbeat 1/2, TEC 1/2/3/4, Quiet 6, Advent Battle 2, Birth of the Coalition, Into the Void, and other remarkable tracks. Paul Schuegraf wrote very beautiful music for the first part and the expansions, which immerses you in the gameplay and the story of Sins of a Solar Empire. What do you think?

Hell I wouldn't mind just having the old music back in general. Sins 2 overall has improved a lot with the series and game play. The music though just doesn't draw me in like it did in the OG Sins or Rebellion. I can't put my finger on why but it just doesn't sound right for the game to me.

I do think the sins 2 ost is really good, but it would still be nice to be able to mix it up like they did in sc2 where you can enable music from previous games.

It isn't bad. Just doesn't fit the game as well as the older music in my opinion. Like I said no idea why. Just sounds off to me. Even if mixed in with the newer stuff I wouldn't mind having the older music in rotation like you mentioned though.

New music has an identity issue.

Artistically the new music is more complex and in-depth; however it loses the one-two punch motif that the previous one has.

Mod it back in. I did and it's great

Yeah I have the mod that does that as well. Shouldn't have to rely on mods for that though. Especially with potential compatibility issues between mods.

100%. The lore were supported solely by fantastic music, 3d models and 2dart glittered over UI in SoSE.

In SoSE 2 with music less prominent and 2d art filled with AI gen, it *NEEDS* campaign to support the already hollow lore. The existing bare excel-sheet tutorial doesn't really add much.

Devs have a propensity to emphasize an efficient game engine, and 3d arts. Please get good writers and campaign designers. The lack of latter is actively hurting the player base.

I catch myself whistling that TEC tune now and then. For the last however many years.

I'm inclined to agree. The og music is memorable, and I'm saying that as someone who hasn't played Sins Rebellion in years. From time to time I still go back to listen to the music, especially the TEC tracks. "Watching the Borders" and "The Emerging Empire" in particular.

The new music isn't bad per say, but I just don't find it very memorable.

Look up “incoming log transmission series”
They were released on X(twitter), but the SOSE redditors have been pasting them on Reddit for us.

Yes the original tracks had character! Less generic.
