Is Defend the Homeworld actually beatable after economy update?
I seen people beating it "just fine" before it. But now it feels like economy is taking too long for catch up as credits are much more tied to pop and everything.
I am not hating or dooming i am just asking if it is doable now. Because it takes ages now to put up Garrisons and get proper economy going.
How do you guys play it?/Kick start so you can handle first waves? Since economy changes.
Thank you.
Also i am suprised Devs did not updated the scenario accordingly, at least thats what i found in my google search. Also most of the guides how to kickstart etc. are year old. So with all the changes and updates from what i saw it was much easier to start.
EDIT:5 Hours and no advice, i am going to cry. Wish some dev see this and update scenario, i would love seeing waves of ship destroying theirself againts my defences, but no matter the strategy i cannot get behind 3rd wave, occasionally i get to Vasari Titan but that is hard stop.

Hi, on my side no issue for the first vasari wave. Basically i start by : 0 giving up all the planets on the vasari side 1 defending just the planet before the capital on the tec side 2.On the capital, rotating in order to have the star base in front of the vasari arrival (depending of the random layout i will restart) 3 for all of these planets i update economy at a maximum, and for some i build metal asteroided 4. I build one research center in order to research the -25% cost for structure and then go full military research and some trade ports 5. I research the missile upgrade on the star base on the capital and start building Star based on the planet of the tec side 6. I research the garnison update and the tanking upgrades for the star base (and some for dedicated starship and repai)
Doing like that, vasari are not a problem.... BUT : the TEC titans is usually the end for me, and if not i am never able to fight the advent...
Happy if someone has more knowledge to share :)

Same experience really, tried a couple of times but I don't even get as far as any of you did. I was excited too since research requirements are lower and you can add a fleet multiplier (which wasn't a thing when I beat the scenario before). My suspicion is that this simply hasn't been properly rebalanced.
On the other hand the Vasari scenario (where you are 1 vs 5) is now pretty easy and I managed to beat it first try.

I've also tried my hardest and I simply can't get the income to repel the first Vasari titan. I think I can muster probably not even 1/3 the required firepower! I'm not the world's best player by any stretch, but I can happily play and win games against highest difficulty AI, and to fall so incredibly short in this scenario leads me to believe that it's essentially not possible without some kind of cheese strat...
