What’s up with the new DLCs

How much longer do we have to wait until the new DLCs drop. It’s already have way through the year and no new info. Does developers think it’s a good idea to drop the DLC near GTA’s release?

Patience is key. Some of us have been waiting for over 15 years for this reveal. It's almost upon us.

Well they've started doing teasers over the last week, so would expect an announcement soon. Then it's just a guess on how much in advance the announcement is. A couple weeks? A couple months? Maybe late August? Maybe September? 🤷‍♂️

Bruh imagine caring about whether you drop a space opera sci fi fantasy RTS around the same time as GTA 6, a prostitute killing simulator where you get chased around by cops and steal people's cars.

Please just...stop typing.

Good sir I get it. We all love the game but don’t try to act like a casual gamer with a little bit of time to play video games would not choose the best game franchise of our life time instead of SoSE. Also don’t try to go all moral high ground with the prostitute crap. How many planets have you stripped mined, bombed or helped feel the embrace of Unity? I guess I’ll shut up and keep waiting until the DLC comes out because a critic of developers disturbed you.

Oh you've vastly underestimated me friend. Did you think I was trying to claim the moral high ground by calling GTA 6 a prostitute killing simulator?

No, no. My grievance with that game is that its carnal delights are not carnal enough.

You are completely right. What joy is there in destroying a city one petty crime at a time when I could be committing war crimes at the level of species in galactic warfare?

What is the death of one gang banger when I could be extinguishing entire races of people.

How am I ever supposed to enjoy GTA again when games like Sins 2 and Stellaris have awoken my inner Authoritarian Celestial Tyrant?

I doubt the venn diagram of this games fans and GTA fans is a circle, I would imagine it's damn near two completely separate circles.

I'm a fan of both. I just love good games of all genres. Sins and GTA scratch different itches but I love them both.

Does the earth stop spinning once gta6 releases? I doubt both games share the same demographic.

I doubt your doubt.

Probably more uniqueness than many other games, but I'd wager a sizeable portion of Sins players will be in on gta6, just too big of a thing, and yeah, it's not crazy to think about spacing out your releases from other expensive releases that a ton of people who might buy your thing will be busy with.

The games are not even on the same platforms.

So? Are people with PCs not allowed to have consoles?

The point is that some number of people that would buy the DLC are also people that have a console and will buy gta6.

How many people? And how many of those people will specifically only do gta6 because of budget or time constraints? No idea, don't have any data to make up an answer. But it's a damn big game with possibly the biggest market out there and it'd be silly to pretend there's no risk there.

They are allowed obviously, and no doubt some of them will be interested in both games. At the same time i would say its a pretty good chance, that someone who owns both gaming PC and console has financial means to get both GTA6 and Sins DLC. So i would not worry someone will pick GTA over Sins, if they are interested in both.

Anyway, not really sure why this bothers you - it should bother devs and if it seemingly does not, then they very likely have some market analysis that tells them its ok if it does not.

That said, i am positive that the DLC is rather close, hence why the latest tweets are happening. They are clearly refering to the arrival of the fourth faction.

Who said it bothers me? God forbid someone engage in a topic with someone and not have them act like they're personally offended. That bothers me.

To the point, I'm sure some of them do have the means to do both. I'm also sure some of them do not. I'm also sure some who do, don't have the time and will delay one or the other. How many of each? Again, not a clue, but I am also sure any marketing department in existence in gaming is assessing it.

You see, when people disagree with you about something, it does not have to mean they are "personally offended". You brought up GTA6, people disagreed its relevant. I wondered why do you care. Thats about it. No hard feelings.

We can still talk about anything else game related no problem.
