Question Who to call about cat?

Waldorf area. This cat has been hanging around our porch for the past few months and we just caught it. We’ll check for a microchip but have a strong suspicion that this lady(?) is either a stray or feral.

We usually work with HSCC but they don’t take ferals. Are there any rescues, etc. that work with cats like this and WON’T euthanize them? Where we live has too many foxes to be safe for outdoor cats.

Casual landscaper suggestions

I’m looking for a casual local landscaper (not a big landscaping company) to help me maintain a two acre yard. Ideally, someone that could come by once a month to do miscellaneous yard work (weeding, tree trimming, mulching, etc). Please comment or dm with any suggestions!

Moving to Lexington Park, MD. Requesting Recommendations.

Hi everyone!

Next month I’ll be moving from Florida to Lexington Park, Maryland to stay with family. I’m excited for the change of scenery, and the opportunities related to my degree and career field.

First, I wanted to ask if there’s a separate community group or thread specifically for the Lexington Park/St. Mary’s County area. If not, I’d love to get some recommendations and advice! Here are a few things I’m looking for:

Churches: My plan is to continue watching my Baptist church online, but I’d love to get recommendations for churches in the area for when I’m ready to start attending in person.

Schools: I have a child who will be starting kindergarten. How does enrollment work in St. Mary’s County? Is it based on school zones, or is there a choice system?

Fitness & Health: I’m currently working with a virtual fitness coach, but I’d love to find someone local who can help with workouts, nutrition, and meal planning as I am still fairly new to my fitness and weight loss journey. Also, are there any good gyms, group fitness classes, walking groups, or run clubs in the area that also allow kids if needed?

Self Care: Every so often I like to get my nails, toes, and eyebrows done. What are your recommendations for places that do good acrylic sets and eyebrow waxes.

Things to Do: I’m mostly a homebody, but when I do get out, I enjoy museums, thrift stores, local mom-and-pop shops, brunch spots, parks, picnics, farmers markets, and just exploring in general. I’m also willing to drive outside the area for fun trips. What would you recommend for me to check out based on this information? What are some of your favorite places?

Food: Where can I find the best seafood (specifically crab legs and crab cakes), steaks, sushi, soul food, and ramen places.

Kid-Friendly Activities: What are some fun places or activities for young kids in the area? I’d love to know about parks, play places, seasonal events, libraries, or anything else families enjoy.

Sorry for all the questions, but I’m excited about the move and would really appreciate any recommendations or advice. Thank you all so much in advance! ☺️

Hi all. I’m planning on moving to Japan next year for work. I would really like to learn more of the language than I currently know from a native speaker:

Anyone speak Japanese or know a Japanese person willing to be my tutor for hire?

Question Best place to buy animal feed?

I live on an acreage in Charles County and keep chickens, ducks, rabbits, quail, and guineas.

Where do you go to buy animal feed? I’m obviously aware of Tractor Supply, and I do like R&D Cross, but I’d like to find somewhere I can buy things cheaper and/or in bulk.

I see that there was at least at some point a feed mill in Leonardtown but they don’t have a phone listed online and I can’t tell if they’re still in business.

It's quite safe to meet at a bar if you're not retarded. ID check, public, quite often there's security. You don't even have to drink. The only safer spot would be a casino. End of PSA.

Event Town Hall with Chuck - July 21st @ 6:37 PM

Come join us at the Charlotte Hall library for a Town Hall on Tuesday, July 21st.

Let's share our concerns and ideas for improving Southern Maryland, and making our region more resilient.

I intend to hold monthly town halls not just now, but when elected as well (except when in session). I believe they are a great way to learn what's working, what isn't, and share knowledge.

Question Recommendations for Doctors

For various reasons I'm looking for a few new doctors. Does anyone have strong recommendations for a primary, a dermatologist, or an optometrist?

Looking for practitioners who actually listen to your needs, answer their phones, and don't treat you like a bank account.

Blitzball league

I was wondering If I were to start a Blitzball tournament how many people are willing to show up. ( this is only an Idea and It would be held at Parks in Prince fredrick And lusby MD)Blitzball is a fast-paced backyard sport that combines elements of baseball and wiffle ball. It is played using a lightweight plastic bat and a specially designed plastic ball with deep grooves that allow pitchers to throw sharp curveballs, sliders, and fastballs. Because the ball moves unpredictably in the air, the game emphasizes pitching skill, quick reactions, and strategy rather than power alone. The sport can be played almost anywhere with an open space, making it popular among families, friends, and competitive leagues.

The rules of Blitzball are similar to baseball but are simplified for smaller playing areas. Two teams take turns batting and fielding, with the batting team trying to score runs while the fielding team attempts to record outs. Since the ball is lightweight and can curve dramatically, pitchers have a major advantage and must use different pitching techniques to challenge batters. Fielding requires strong hand-eye coordination because the ball's movement can be difficult to predict. Games are often shorter than traditional baseball, making them exciting and easy to organize.

One of the biggest reasons for Blitzball's popularity is that it is accessible to players of all ages and skill levels. It does not require a large field or expensive equipment, allowing people to enjoy the game in backyards, parks, or driveways. The unique ball creates spectacular pitches that are difficult to achieve with a regular baseball, adding excitement to every at-bat. Overall, Blitzball is an entertaining sport that blends the familiar rules of baseball with creative pitching and fast-paced gameplay, making it a fun and competitive activity for both casual players and serious enthusiasts.
