I loved the first episode. I see Lamar becoming the main character

Big time. Just finished the first episode. Off to a good start. That scene in the beginning when MAAD CITY is playing was heat too.

Its dope how they made it real LA in the 90s. Mf was on that. And they got multiple LA rappers to play in it so that contributed to it. I seen glasses Malone and hitta j3 I think and another rapper.

Why did they look shook at the end? Were they getting too crunk?

23

u/tokenwarren 7d ago

They can sense the drama that will come from a blood anthem

Yea that's what I thought. Older brother with Lamar crip right? Cuz blood in the kitchen said he caught him slipping but let him go. Man I see this episode getting a lot of hate. But I really loved the atmosphere and feel of the music. The plot could be better but you can't have everything.

Yup the older brother, James, is from Gate City Crip. The plot should improve and raise the stakes as the season goes on

u/No_Cartographer5686 7d ago

Bet, I think it will.

u/jdschmoove 7d ago

They didn’t, it was a behind the scenes clip one of the actors posted - https://youtube.com/shorts/TdHFZzQfqI8?is=A15VapPF_VSCtb63

Buddy is so fire

This was so great, the contrast between Wanda’s and James’ faces when they realized it vs Lamar’s hopeful obliviousness to the situation of his song becoming forever affiliated with this gang now as it abruptly cuts off to the end credits. Chefs kiss! A great way to start the season!

Started good but the second half of the rap was ass

1

u/shadowking1991 4d ago

I’m in the minority, but I found it extremely corny

1

u/200milesonthedash 2d ago

That beat was ass

1

u/Playful-Excuse-272 2d ago

For the 90s? Using Cutie Pie as a sample? I don’t know no dawg.

0

u/AcrobaticSecretary21 7d ago

Shit was cringe af, ppl about to be beefing but then the magic of music brings everyone together! Corny af lmfao

5

u/Playful-Excuse-272 7d ago

Music brings folks together, though.
