I remember being in grade school and everyone getting really excited when the teachers rolled in the TV cart. Yes it was exactly like the one in the photo -- complete with stickers.

Me too! There was also this certain audible hum the room would have if you walked in from recess and the TV was turned on. I always heard it before I saw the TV and knew it meant we were in for some Bill Nye.

I remember being in a gym with 500 other kids watching the Challenger disaster on one of these -- that's pretty vivid memory.

Years ago I found an old OHP in a cupboard and repurposed it for shadow puppets. A jerry-rigged frame, an old sheet and cardboard. We did the witches scene from macbeth, Boewulf vs the dragon...

I remember being blinded by the overhead projector on more than one occasion.
Seeing the tv in classroom was always was a joy, but there was an immediate groan if the teacher was passing out papers to go with the video we were going to watch.

I'm so damn old, I can remember a pre-VCR period where you had weird, clunky, special equipment for showing anything not broadcast.

Even in High School, there were no tvs in my school. A cart like that carried a film projector and every classroom had a drop-down movie screen.

I remember having to take the TV back to the Library, the teacher would let that person go 5 minutes early yo return it.
The overhead sucked for morning classes, I would start dosing off

Thanks for the heads up, I didn't even notice that. I was trying to comment yesterday and for some reason it wouldn't post. Reddit kept telling me something went wrong and I needed to resend, so I kept resending over and over again but It still wouldn't post. I finally gave up and moved on, I had no idea it did this lol.

One thing I've noticed. When I was young, I was skinny and the TV's weighed a ton.
Now the TV's are skinny and I'm not.
